Sorry for being a noob. cant find this answer anywhere but when i burn a ps2 game copy in A120% i cant change the speed down from 16x speed. (admittedly it drops to 8x cause thats my dvd speed) but shouldnt it be either 4x or 1x for reliablity.
im new and have got ico working and killzone after second attempt
also killzone didnt work and a decent £2 +R but did on a 20+R. why? just luck?
cheers sorry if im being real dumb...

Right theres your first problem Alcohol 120% in my view doesn't drop down to the desired speed that you want (alright for ps1) I burn all my ps2 backups using Nero and always at 4x and havn't had a single problem, Nero is very good for getting low speeds which is ideal for PS2 games. :)
And not sure wether your PS2 can take DVD+R as mine will only take DVD-R, my PS2's a PAL version 9.
NE wayz hope this helps

i would surgest dvd decripter alot simpler and you can change the speed setting very quickly
really the price dosent come in to it when buying disk (but dont buy cheap ones its the type of ink used on the disk that matters
try some ty (can nerver rememer there name) verb's or my fav ritek g05
but never use memorex!!!!

Go for either official Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim advanced AZO dye. DO NOT go for Ritek as they are a dying breed and you rarely get the right dye ie G04,G05. Even if you get the right dye there has been lots of posts concerning riteks quality going down the drain.
Oh yeah and I find for my computer that nero 6 ultra edition swallows alot less memory and is far better, I find it is more reliable than DVD decryptor for PS2 games. (My personal opinion) and that DVDD is better for movies again my personal opinion.

i tend to disagree with most of that apart from Nero v7 uses a hell of alot of resoures but on i newish pc should run fine due to you not haveing nothing eles running ie; firewall antivirus or any background programs
there is nothing wrong with g05 there are plenty about and there is nothig wrong with them apart from the peolpe burning them ive done well 1000 disk games+movies andi never lose a disk usless it my fault

Right boobooman I was only stating what worked for me hence-
Quote: Oh yeah and I find for my computer that Nero 6 ultra edition swallows alot less memory and is far better, I find it is more reliable than DVD decryptor for PS2 games. (My personal opinion) and that DVDD is better for movies again my personal opinion.
What you are saying is like telling me what clothes look good on me without knowing who I am and another thing
Quote: RitekG03,G04-this was supposedly faked in 2004. However, it is the opinion of the author that it was just a lame cover story by Ritek for providing subpar quality media, as even the "legit" media performed poorly at this point
Therefore Ritek can no longer be trusted.
