ok this is how to boot a ps1 game using a mem expoite
what you need
a fat ps2
mem expoite
ps1 orginal and a backup copy
a fliptop or slide card
im asuming if you want this to work you have a working expoit
you will need to add the sms elf (simple media player)

you need sms 1.5 i dont know if the others work but i know this one does
set up your expoit to load the sms file (as a media player i found pretty useless but has 1 good feature)
once loaded press start and chosse the last opinon to boot to browers
now all the boot to browers ive found auto ejects the disks hense you ps2 checking the next disk you load but this dont
so when you are back in the browers it should tell you that a psx/1 games is in te drive (being your trigger disk)
so all you need to do is swap the disk using your fliptop or slide card
hit x on controller and bingo you are playing ur ps backup
ive tryed this on many games look at my sig ive got a few and hasnt failed yet
i can confirm that swaping the disks at the sony ps screen works but as the disk is still spinning swapping at that time is dangerous as you cound catch you lazer and damage it
if you need a ready made expoite made ive got a pal or ntsc i can emaail you 1 just pm me but you will need to read up on expoits first as they are hard to get the hang off

Or just load the .elf file of cogswap and swap your trigger disc with your PS1 backup. Cool thing though!

ive tried that and it dont woork for me
when i load cogswap swap trigga disk with my backup and hit x the disk just spins and dose nothing am i doing something wrong
i dont thnik my way works right well anyway
if i swap with PAL disk works fine (ive got PAL ps2)
if i swap with NTSC disk just sits on black screen
but this happen with my chipped psone will only load PAL games
my 2 chipped ps1 dont care will pay all my games
thanks for the intrest though cos all imtrying to do is play my ps1 backups on ps2 without buying breaker pro cos what the point when i can just play on the ps1 anyway but you are that little extra bump on the ps2

konnichiwa.
I tried sms 1.5 r3 and It didn't work for booting ps1 games with it.
I press the start button. Then selected the last item on the list Boot to browser. The browser came up. It showed my memcard, and it also says reading disc. Then it goes to the not a ps ps2 disc screen. :(
I tried sms 1.6 and booted it up. When I press start and select the last option which is. Exit sms. It takes me back to the browser. It shows my memory card and it also says reading disc. Then it goes to the not a valid ps ps2 disc screen. :(

I didn't found a mem expoit for PAL :/ so i PM you for that ;)
PS : AnyOne know if with the HD Loader and a HD you can load a game from HD only without chip, original or backup CD/DVD Plz ?
Like Xbox for exemple !

hi all for those wanting an expoite im hopeing to upload a ntsc and pal version on this theard as im getting many requests i might aswell just upload a perm the tb's will be as big as i can find the ntsc is huge but the pal isnt but alot of pop games but its pretty easy to create ur own anyway

it shouldnt be saying checking disc due to this is what i need to skip are you sure you are doing it right

the expolte includes the hd loader soo if you have a networt ap and a hard drive you are all sorted

Thx m8 , I've trying to instal myself the MC Exploit: modify the two System.cnf to PAL , patch the Title.db with my PAL Original CD Rom ID (it's a Demo , SCED_xxx.xx , it's ok ?) but i have the same problem than you at the beggining with the MC Exploit only.
I see the CogSwapLoader PSX CDROM Screen after loading my PSX Original CDROM , but if i press X after swap with a PS1 Pal or NTSC Backup or Original , the Disc spin ... and it doesn't work
If i press X with original CD , without swap , same things !
I tested the old violent swap method in manager (like PS1), launching original PS1 CD in memory card manager, when the black disc is appear , use your flip top to swap for backup , i have the SCEE Screen but no more ...
heellppppp , 3 Verbatims burned for nothing (and only 3 Mo by CD :/// )
Edit : I've burned 1 more CD and now with KL04 i have all the apps to try to lauch my backups on MC , but.....
same things than i try the old hotswap while loading , I see the SCEE logo , but no more ...

yep your ex works just great installed fine boot if a trigger disk press x to load sms once loaded start exited to browers swap with ffiv PAL loaded fine tryied the same with castlesvania NTSC woulnd boot to im still going with the fact it can boot PAL just not NTSC or vise vera
but apart from that its a great expoite you done your homework on how to build it

yes i burnt ur exploit with Nero
didnt need to change tb file due to when they are made they include
psx.exc
its the same code as a psx cheats disk so i used that to boots it
like i said it boot final fantasy 4 first time
you are using sms to boot not cogswap
are your psx games PAL are you sure they work

Yes all my PS1 Backups pass on my PS1 1001 (no mod, no chip) and the original CD pass directly in the ps2 but backups with cogswap or sms , no !
Fuck off ps2 , i'll play my ps1 games on PC or Xbox now =)
I don't want to buy a Breaker Pro CD.
For those which want , i can post 2 others .ELF Files not included in my CD (HDLoader and HDFormat) for use with the HD rack (i havn't for moment)
But it's to you to make you own CD after that!

I have a v4 or v5 ps2. I am not at my ps2 to check it right now.
I am using swap magic 3.6 disc and a white slid card.
I am tring to boot jap(NTSC) ps1 games.
1. I load up swap magic 3.6.
2. Swap using white card.
3. sms 1.5r3 loads up.
4. I choose boot to browser from the sms menu.
5. ps2 broswer comes up.
6. it showes my memory card and says checking disc.
7. Then not a valid ps2, ps1 disc screen shows up.
Hope you get the exploit uploaded to the form. I'll try it out and see if it works for me.
