Just to elaborate on PS3 pricing, IGN reported an article during the gaming convention in March that Sony (Playstation) president had reported information that the PS3 was not only being pushed back to November 2006 (likely and speculated to be pushed even further into 2007) but that the price currently being looked at is no less than $450. In addition, Playstation 3 will be releasing world wide in order to catch up with Xbox's year head start. The downfall? That minimal units will be available to the public. I forget the actual number itself, but it was stated in an Insider Article that there would only be a handful of a million some units available to continents.

Ouch. I'm not shelling out $450+ for a PS3 that has yet to have all of its bugs worked out, much less will I preorder it. And while PS3 has all of this horsepower, it's unlikely that anyone will be pirating games (not that I do myself, however, to many gamers, this is a crucial aspect) due to the blue-disk technology. Hell, I'm not even sure it'll read regular media disks.

Look for Sony to incorporate as many restrictions as Microsoft and Nintendo have for the next generation, because pirating has caused millions of buys to disappear. This means media lock outs for "unsigned" files such as video and MP3 formats. It's standard in video games now, and it's standard in most PCs. It's an awareness, and if anyone here honestly believes there won't be similar restriction, than you're seriously mislead.
