The 360 and PS3 will definately beat the Wii in the graphics department hands down *if* you have a television that supports it. Since this forum is for video and gaming enthusiasts, there is probably a larger percentage with high end equipment than the norm. With HDTV in less than 25% of US households by some estimates, that leaves a large percentage that really can't take advantage of the superior graphics capabilities of the other consoles. And that's just the US, the other counties where the Wii will be on sale probably have less HDTV penetration than that. In 5 to 6 years when the next wave of new consoles come out, that is when the market penetration of HDTV will probably be the other way. Good graphics doesn't always make good gameplay. Graphics does add to the immersion factor of a game, but after the inital wow over the realism of the display it still comes down to the gameplay to hold your attention.

One area where I think the new controller will shine in a conventional sense is with the Virtual Console. Turn the controller sideways and it is nearly identical to the standard NES contoller. Imagine playing the downloaded NES games on a near identical copy of the original controller as well.

This is basically Gamecube 1.5 plus a new remote
So what the hell is the 360 to the xbox then?

Wii is ment to have about 5 or 6 times the power (graphics wise) than the gamecube.
Considering the graphics of like the resident evil series, star wars rouge squadron on the GC i would be happy with the proposed improvement of graphics.

Considering the size of the US thats a fair amount of people BUT in europe that figger is considerably smaller. Out of all my family (im asian, so thats a big family) and friends I only know 1 person that has a plasma.
I would estimate about 10-15% of our population have HDTV available so for the rest of us, graphics wont make much difference as you wont be able to see all of the pixels anyway, so they would all look more or less similar.

You must not have seen that tennis demo. The graphics were actually worse than the n64
For you to really believe it will stay like that you must be a grade A dumbass.
They were just trying to prove that with those outdated graphics, the 4 of them can still have fun playing a tennis game on Wii.

Some of you people really need to look at the bigger picture, not everyone has HDTV or a massive wallet to dish out for all the latest technology.
