Nope, I only get unprocessed anti-aliasing by using a non-native resolution. It's still jaggedy. Even at 2560x1600 it's jaggedy, and at that res I get a bad frame rate too.
Also, friendly joke, believe it or not the full stops used in afterdawn's font set are square. Try as you might, anti-aliasing a perfect square might be quite hard! :)
A circle is the best example of anti-aliasing, but oddly enough no games use perfect circles in rendering I don't think, they're just too hard to program.

really, they just look like blobs :P
but yeah i meant in something rounded, the higher res need LESS AA then those with small res.
its true thats its hard to play games on that res, but you wouldnt take a MAJOR hit with AA, caus you'd hardly need it. only may be 2x

It's not that... I just download games once ever 4 or 5 months now... I see people heckling about how they have a kickass pc, with millions of dlls on them but then bitch about how they dont get uber frames in games - and I defenetly dont want to be like that.
All of those downloads were done on my old P4 system, which is now in parts laying on the floor in the basement.
Also, as the Crysis sales were released, it seemed that only 1/3 of people were actually buying the game while the rest were downloading it. That kinda makes me mad as the developers spent that last 4 years on one of the most anticipated games, but then they dont even get better sales than COD4, or most other FPS games.

AA is anti aliasing. And you most likely will, even though AA is a huge performance killer, it will make the game look better. Personally, I play at 1152/864 most of the time and dont notice the AA, but now I am starting to play at 1280x1024 and I dont think AA is necessary. Sammorris might though, but I dont own a 30" monitor and therefore am not exposed, or the picture is not as big and therefore easier to notice the jagged lines.

PCI-e 16x and PCI-e 2.0 are backwards compatible, so you can use the 3850 in your x16 slot.

OR maybe they only sold 147 thousand copied because there aren't that many computers that can run it.
I would rather play Halo anyway.

Haha, don't forget I don't own a 3850 or 8800. :( My X1900XT struggles to keep up on high at anything above 800x600. (So since COD4 runs perfectly at 1680x1050 maxed with 4x AA, you can see why I moan about Crysis being a system whore!)
Waymon: I think COD4 deserves more sales than Crysis. Word quickly spreads among gamers, and almpst everyone at my LAN agrees that it's not a game worth buying given current system performance.
Abuzar: You know what's funny? So would I. Bear in mind PC games see my 30" LCD, the 360 only runs on a 24" CRT TV in standard def. Either way, Halo 3 is more fun than Crysis to me. Utterly barmy though that sounds, games aren't all about graphics. I spend more time playing UT2004, Counterstrike source and Super Smash Bros than any current top-graphics game.

YES. some one that agrees with me. along with custom PC. the bigger the res, the more dots per inch. therefore more pixels per rounded edge, and less jaggies.
a 24" monitor has 96 000 dots per inch (at 1920 x 1200), where as a 30" monitor has 136 533 dots per inch (at 2650 x 1600) therefore on a 30" monitor you would see even less jaggies

Hehe, it's actually 8900dpi for the 24, and 10125 for the 30, so I take your point, but a 13.8% difference in the dpi isn't exactly huge!
As far as the jaggies go, they're less prominent with a higher dpi count. However, given that there's more pixels, you would effectively have to turn the sampling level up to eradicate all the aliases, so 4x at my resolution would only have the same effect as 2x at a lower resolution like 1280x800. Anything above 4x though, even at my resolution is unnecessary, and I can't tell the difference between 8x and 16x AF.

Indeed, I'm itching to play Super Mario Galaxy, but the Wii can't even run progressive scan on a signal at UK TV resolution. (576p).

Uninstall your previous drivers. Then put it in the PCI-E slot and make sure you attach the power cable. Then just start it up and install drivers.

It looks from the dimensions like it'll be 11 - 11.5" long.
