yes different...

load your file in / set burn options in project settings (TICK - burn project to disc) / set output as either PAL or NTSC for your region / load dvdr not dvdr dual layer / click create.

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

As I said previous, we are here to help..it's up to you to decide if you want our help. Several times now I have told you to change to 6.6.0.18...BOTH packages, the 2nd package actually contains NeroVision and SHOULD have the Make DVD feature....have you changed to 6.6.0.18 as yet?

If so then post a History log of your last failed attempt.

I have installed 6.6.0.18 twice. I have tried burning my DVD once again and the log says that I do have the version 6.6.0.18 Here is a screen shot showing what I see on my computer. As you can see there is no option of of making a DVD, only a Video CD.

Here is another log of my lastest attempt.

I think I just have to change the settings of the compilation from CD to DVD, and then I think everything should work fine.

Is there another version of Nero I could try? Maybe I should try the version you have burnt DVD's with? (Nero 7). It might not make a difference, but maybe I should try anyway.

Hi 7535
I haven't looked thru the whole thread but one reason why you might only have the cd option in Vision is you are using the SE which is an oem version. They usually only have the make a dvd option option for a limited if at all.

Use DVDFlick like rotary suggested - here's a guide

You NOW have 6.6.0.18 installed however your last log submitted showed you still had 6.6.1.4 , that is why I asked. To upgrade to Nero7 is going to cost you $$$$$$$

@binkie7, Karen I thought that package 2 would take care of the NeroVision problem....but as you say if it's an OEM version then he's left without that option in NVE

I have stopped using Nero, because I can't figure out what is going on. I am now using another DVD program. Although I am having a problem with that as well. It would be great to get some advice as to what is happening.

@Gwen
Yeah the SE in the screen is the giveaway that's it's an oem version.

@7535
Can't help with that program cause I've never used it.
Why not give DVDFlick a try or the one Gwen linked?

The version that you gave me Gwen, worked fine, although I wanted to make a DVD with Menu's and Graphics, and things like that. I wish that I had the right version of Nero. When I burnt the DVD, I was able to watch it on my DVD player, but a watermark was put in, so every 20 seconds a screen comes up that says to unlock this you have to purchase it and it costs alot.

I have never tried to burn DVD's before. First time. I have burnt Cd's though before, and they worked fine. Is there any software that I could purchase that you would recommend? Maybe I should buy Nero 7?

so no worries...

these discs you used what is the dye code?, will read over again...
----------

in your first logs it says AVIVCD, VCD being written to cdr or cdrw discs

so

what is your project avi to vcd or svcd ?

explain your whole project what you have and what settings you use and what you want to get to? sounds abit like if you want avi to dvd your not going the dvd project route,

now

this could be due to the mpeg error? nero needs a serial plugin code for mpeg2 (dvd compliant files / burning) otherwise all the option will be only vcd / svcd probably

have you done any projects ok before or is this the first time?

asking for cdrw sounds like vcd/svcd project...
------------------------
now if you dont own nero plugin codes try dvd flick its free for testing avi to dvd. (and your drive is ok)

may need a full codec pack installed though = k-lite mega codec pack <-- its free.
------------------------
bit of reading up info on drive specs, threw it in as was looking meself ;-]

http://www.devhardware.com/c/a/Storage-D...-R-RW-Review/2/

NOTE: Installation

Installation of the AOpen DUW1608/ARR, like most optical drives, was a breeze. The only thing to remember is the drive does require an ATA66 ribbon cable, not the ATA33 ribbon cable most slower burning optical drives use.

means an 80 wire ide cable
----------------
odd that before you updated nero the log shows

=== Scsi-Device-Map ===
DiskPeripheral : WDC WD1200BB-00DWA0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : AOPEN DUW1608/ARR atapi Port 3 ID 0 DMA: On

then when updated it shows

=== Scsi-Device-Map ===
DiskPeripheral : Hitachi HTS541080G9SA00 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L532B atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On

oh i see you have 2 pc's! ok this brings me back to first comment i made, your first pc has this

Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ?

could be bios not on auto detecting? although dma is on...
im back...

input a second serial for dvd/mpeg burning, plugin serail needs purchasing

and for avi to dvd get convertxtodvd v3 (has menus although slightly bugged at present but updates come thick and fast).

dvd flick beta has menus! a free app, just watch out for auto audio fixing...

Nothing here to see, move along folks.
