When I record live recordings or CD"s that that have songs that go right into the next one, the ipod puts a little gap in between the two songs. Is there any way to prevent this gap? Thanks.

You can manuely edit it closer, but it really is not worth it. Just use screenblast acid or something and cut the songs down. You will neaver be able to stop the ipod's loading time though.(You can hear the ipod loading, the rest of the time it is track time.)

This is because MP3 and AAC aren't gapless formats. What ever editing program you use to cut down on the gap time won't completely get rid of it.

Yeah, weazel is right. Also, the iPod doesn't support 'blank skipping' or 'crossfading' like some media players & Hi-Fi's do..

But I don't think that is what the question was reffering to, as the solution to that is pretty obvious. I think the question was referring to the total pause in sound, which, in the case of the iPod, cannot be amended.

I obviously did a poor job of clearly stating my question. I think this is the best way I can put it. If I was a DJ, I would put a string of songs together, such as a long mix. On my stand alone CD burner, I can burn a mix that will playback with no gaps or pause, or any break in the music at all. The ipod on the other hand, everytime it senses a new track, it seperates the the music, even if it has no seperation on the original recording. No song can go smootly into another one without a small break in the sound. From what I read, it sounds like I won't be able to do anything about it, but if anybody had any ideas, please let me know. Thank you so much for all of your suggestions.

You could join all your songs together with a program like Audacity. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

There are many ways to do that. One way is useing Soundforge Acid. You can just load up your songs and copy and paste them into one track! Also, you can try and keep the beat the same. If you have a song going at 320 BPS then another song soudenly starts to play at 100 BPS it could sound a little $it*y.

(Soundforge Acid came free on my computer i think, i didn't install it and it is my compuer. I also check with bro and he didn't)
