Heya all,
I just got an ipod video 60gb and i'm using itunes to put songs on but when i go to drag in a video clip it says 'some of the songs in itunes music library were not copied because they cannot be played on this ipod'. How could that be?! I can put songs on my ipod vid but not clips.
I previously had my nano 4gb one installed but i uninstalled it and installed the video ipod. Its kinda like its still thinking i'm using my nano so it doesnt know videos can go on it or something.
Totally don't know whats going on but if anyone can lend a hand it would be great!
Thanks guys, Luv Kim.

That message means the video's arn't in the proper format/resolution! Look at Lethal or dkmopq's guides for help on converting them. If you already have the video's Videora iPod Converter is free and does a pretty nice job. Post back if you're still having problems.

Hi everyone
This is the first time i have ebver used a forum so if i do anything to annoy anyone sorry in advance!
I recently bought a 60g video ipod and i am having huge problems getting video onto it
i can decode it so ipod will accept it and get it on my ipod but when i go to play the video - it plays about 15 secs then freezes momentarily and when it unfreezes there is no audio.
If i press menu and go back a screen then resume playing it will play where it left off with audio for another 15secs then cuts out again and so on.
I have tried a few different progs....used one guide off this forum for psp9 and same problem
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Sounds like you have the firmware version 1.1! Which is bad news for most people with a 60 gig iPod trying to play long videos. You can downgrade your firmware to version 1.0 and that should solve all your problems. A good program for that is iPod Wizard, I don't have the link handy - sorry. Also if you have a previous firmware upgrade on your computer you can use that. I'll be a little less vague later - I'm out of time!

Heya all,
Thanks for all your help.
Sorry about the dely with getting back to you guys had technical difficulties! For some reason when i plugged in my nano after installing the stuff for ipod video it totally cleaned out my nano and wouldnt register or detect it with anything. Anyway fixed that after a bit of fiddling around and now i'm back using the program that came on the cd for the nano but it wont work the video. Pain in the butt. I thought it would be so much easier.
Will this happen again ya reckon if i install the ipodvideo stuff on the cd it came with?
Thanks Lethal_B for all that info im gonna go through it and fiddle around a bit more with all this stuff.
Laters all, Luv Kim

bruhaha - You can use iPod Wizard to downgrade your firmware or if you downloaded the upgrade for your iPod you should still have the old updater on your computer, if you can find that you can use it to restore your iPod [make sure you have all your files backed up on your iPod as it erases everything on the iPod] and your iPod will be succesfully downgraded!

You dont have to downgrade. (unless you downloaded from itunes) If you converted, all you have to do is change your converter then copy file. Click on your ipod in itunes and hit cntl+v and it will be fine most likely. Pq DVD is a good one to try. Also it gives a 5 min trail. If the 5 min workes it is most like the full VS will too.

Could you run that by me again Serpiroth? That firmware issue is a pretty big problem and if the fix is apparently that simple we better get spreading the word.

You have always been able to downgrade the firmware that way, but you cannot update, only restore, so it can take a long time to re-sync your iPod..

I dont have a problem with the fireware, because i only really dont use itunes too much. To get videos/music onto my ipod all i do is fine the folder where it is in, copy it. Load up itunes, click on ipod and hit paste. Then rename what i need to. I use PQ DVD to convert movies into MP4.

If something happens like the ipod crashed, all they say is "It chrashed because you downgraded" If i were them thats what i would say. With cars (only for example they are not really related just useing it as an example on how some companies try and screw you with your warenty) i remeber a story on S2000 furoms that some guy added a 15$ part, and a week later the V-tech broke! He could not get the warrenty because of the part. It was definatly not the part's fault. Do you really think Apple will send you a free Ipod when they can get out of it?????? :(

My iPod Video 30Gb Black doesn't always turnoff on the first time. I have to keep holding down the click wheel numerous times ( 3-4). It's kind of annoying. DOes anyones else's iPod do this?

No, but give it a reset, and if that doesn't remedy it, then try restoring it using the iPod updater.

I don't think Apple can prove you downgraded the firmware - maybe you just never updated in the first place? And the car story doesn't really apply - there's no applicable situation for an iPod like that.

Many ipods came upgraded (like mine). And i suspect they can check to see fireware. The car story was a little left feild but it was only to state that many companies will try everything to get out of giving you your warrenty. I know it is against the warrenty to put a hack on your ipod. Downgradeing could probaly fall under that catagory. :(
I am only saying to be careful what you do. Unless you get it from Bestbuy or circut city. They are normaly have very nice customer serverace.
