Yet another useless uneducated know next to nothing post by dg0896
you have to bust the ISO apart and extract the .pss files the steps are different for different games and some you cant extract them out of, God Of War is one that you can rip 99% of them from but that last 1% isn't extractable.

@simmy6k - what game is it you're having trouble with?
Most of the time if people are having problems with choppy fmv sequences it's down to the media they're using or the speed they're burning at.. or both. What media are you using and what speed/program are you using for burning.. eg. verbatim 8x DVD-R and burning at 4x with DVD Decrypter???
Next time can you explain your problem properly to save us having to ask YOU questions to try and help you with your problem, thanks.

My Media is RITEKG05 DVD-R and the Speed is 8x.
i used both Nero and Decrypter! i can only burn at 4x! dats the lowest speed i can use.
the burn process doesnt even go past about 20% thats on DVD Decrypter but on Nero its doesnt even burn anything. just write errors appear.
Im thinking it woz me media coz i backed my San Adreas up and followed all the procedures on here but still no look.
ive actually wasted about 50+ dvd-rs on tryin to backup my games successfully.
the game is "Black" and wen i burned it to 2 DVD+R, they worked fine but crash on the second mission!
i dont understand wot im doin wrong?
Thanks for replying to me thread.

What make and model is your burner? does it have the latest firmware update for it? do you have DMA enabled on your IDE channels? What version is your ps2?
The more info you can give me the better I can help you, thanks.

Look in my profile page under links... "checklist" link... will tell you how to do that and a few other things that may help too.
When burning turn off ALL non-essential apps too, like internet and virus scanner and leave the computer alone to write the disc. If your burner will only burn at 4x min, then I think you need to update the firmware for it.. how to do that is in the checklist too... but 4x should be ok... maybe try a different brand of media like verbatim or taiyo yuden.
I have great success with Taiyo yuden, verbatim and ritekg05 media, but it's gonna be different for each person depending on what burner, hardware etc they have.
good luck with it

No worries... make sure you get the verbatim that has an MCC or TYG code, if it says CMC MAG don't buy it!!!
It's not definite that new media will solve your problems, just one of the things you can try... if you do the things that are in my "checklist" though and it's still not working, then my guess would be the media.
good luck with it

Hello mate,
ive done all of your checklist and i used my last 2 RitekG05 and still no luck! i my guess it has to be the Media!
Dvd Decrypter - got to 3% and then this error appeared:
http://img493.imageshack.us/img493/2782/error0yx.jpg
Nero 7 - Just got to 44% and then write error!
so is it my media or im now thinkin it could be my DVD-Writer!
Thank you for all the help you have given me.

run Nero CD/DVD speed test and post your CPU usage off the benchmarking page. your PC configuration might not have the ability to keep up with the burn.

Just to let you know but "black" has to be rebuilt with cd/dvd gen to work... I used gnie's rebuilding tool, but it had faults in the FMV sequences even at the start/intro on good media... tried a few different things and wasted a few discs.. and finally got it to work by rebuilding with cd/dvd gen rebuild and burned at 6x on good media.. almost perfect so far.. no choppy FMV on intro etc.. will let you know if I get any probs.

cool, since the "Black" is an ISO format, should i extract the files with ISOBUSTER and then rebuild with CD/DVD Gen!

Yep, that's how I did it... as I said though, I only got the game today, so can't confirm that this works ok throughout.. but as mine was choppy at the beggining and now it isn't anymore, should be ok I think.

I've burned both the PAL and NTSC versions straight to TY disks at 8x and both versions play perfectly as is.

Yeah, I realise that now.. I took this guys word that it wouldn't do a straight burn and so never tried that, wasted a few discs trying different things and got choppy FMV etc.. should have known better really, I normally just do stuff myself and ignore the comments on here about whether it needs rebuilding etc but was tired this morning when I wanted to backup my disc, LOL.
Anyway, works ok with rebuild too and reduces the iso size to around 2.3GB.. which is handy for storing on HDD etc if you do that.

rebuilding and burning to disk for play off that disk slows the loading time of the game down considerably. if you are using a chip never rebuild a game that is going to be played from the disk. even off the HDD i myself do not rebuild, a 200 gig drive holds 50+ games and i honestly don't think you'll be playing more then that at any given time.
