if i jiggle the hdmi (at the back of the PS3) it shows red dots. i have tried a different HDMi cable to no avail, i have used both HDMI cables with my PC to this monitor and it works.
so i assume its the PS3, but i went to my aunts, and she has a sony 42" bravia which can do 720p/1080i max.
SO i thought why not connect it up. i did and it worked instantly, BUT i connected it back to my monitor and nothing :(
WTF can i do?!
Shaff,
Have you tried the monitor on a computer, or have you tried any other interfaces to see if they work?

Speaking of odd...Originally posted by Sam: Use one stick of RAM?
That was one of the first things I did of course. When the only stick I left didnt work i took a beer break and posted my message from my wifes lappy. I went back to it and after going into more detail, found 1 out of 4 sticks bad. I used the bad one as my single stick test so of course it didnt work. Figured it out when instead of filling the first slot i put a different stick into the 4th and it fired up.
Verified with Memtest v1.70 as singles and as a pair the sticks i put back in.
Now I read the advice after I get it back together, good call Sam.

HA of course you are, and I thought I initially checked 2 of them in the first slot. I was distracted by my 4 yr old daughter in the middle of things and when I came back and seen 4 sticks that look exactly alike, i got confused and and accidentally used the same one twice. Told myself what are the chances of 2 sticks dying at the same time, must be something else. Then became emotional about spending more money and stepped away from it for a bit, im glad i did.

Hmm of course I'm going to sacrifice all other slots so I can have 7 16x size PCI-e slots for a system only compatible with 4 cards and possibly a fifth for PhysX. With a dual-slot card only 4 are usable anyway which just means your throwing money away. Is it only me who doesn't understand the point of this at all?
I could put something funny here but I cant be arsed. Now GO AWAY!

If there was an nf200-free Crossfire version of that board, I would so buy it. Dual nf200s though, ugh, it's like having cancer twice!

I still havent received my rebate ($20 charge card) from OCZ for the SSD i purchased over 2 months ago.
Definitely not as good as Corsair with their rebate department, or DDR2 department for that matter. But a power supply is neither of those so I digress...

Sorry, what? A section that only contains a single thread? Why?
The only need for a dedicated forum section for this is if aD had a marketplace, which it does not. I don't see the problem.
If you have trouble finding threads, get google mail and archive your emails instead.

Put it in with the Offered for sale and the Wanted to buy threads then! It should be it's own topic anyway, with threads being added for different items! That's the way it was at the Hounds, and the topic, "Bargain Bin" was right on the main forum menu!

But Russ that would mean you going out of this thread from time to time... :)
Was tidying up my Win7 machine the other night due to insomnia. Some nights i just stay up all night and grab 2 or 3 hours at around 4 or 5am.
Anyways, it was a triple boot, Win7 RC1, XP and Puppy Linux. All working 100%, so don't ask why i messed with it. To save all the reinstallation hassles i made a copy of the Win7 install DVD and edited the csversion.ini file to basically fool the install into thinking i had an older build installed. Worked a treat, all worked fine, took a fair while though.
However i then stormed straight into Puppy, fired up GParted, and went straight for the XP partition to delete it and extend Win7's partition. Upon reboot i found i'd made a huge booboo, had deleted the wrong partition even though i knew which ones were which. Reinstalled from scratch, wasn't difficult to reinstall all my apps though.
Note to self, no PC Building when you've had hardly any sleep for months on end.
Posted that in case it helps anyone lurking, i see the question about upgrades very often on the net, thought it was about time i tried it for myself. At least i know it'll be easy when i want to upgrade to the retail build.
