why don't you just buy vista ultimate, and stop being cheap. at least you get a REAL serial.
like creaky said, any talk about fake serial/keygen/cracks is AGAINST aD forum rules.

Vista is so buggy when it first came out, i donwloaded when it first came out, but never got a sn... w/e... i didnt like it at all, well anyway i got a copy of vista and office 2007 recently becuase i didnt want to mess with sata hdd and sata drivers using xp. Everything installed nicely. Vista isnt as buggy as before, there are nice features, but most of the features take up so much of the computers resources. Also 2007 custom animations always lags and freezes and ive still cant find out why.

We knew this was going to happen as soon as the cracks were released..
Buy vista to find your key is already in use.. brilliant!!
I hate the POC and am now refusing to support it across the board. It isn't worth my time trying to fix the broken by design rubbish.
I'm not on my own either.. In my town most PC shops don't do vista support.. they have signs in the window saying things like "we remove vista" and "M$ vista problems... Phone Microsucks!"
My 10 or so experiences of at so far are.. It's a resource hog.. it doesn't let you do obvious and simple administrator functions.. even as administrator.. Malware kills it stone dead.
It's like a unix system set up by a moron.. so many permissions are wrong it is incredible.
Don't buy.. and make it clear to retailers you would rather have a machine with a BLANK HDD than have this POS installed (and paid for with all the bloatware trials)
Broken by Design... Windows Vista.

Gee varnull you have ruined my day. I so wanted a new Vista machine! NOT LMAO I talked to a guy today that had his notebook crash(W98) and now Cox cable refuses to help him get it back in order to go online, because they no longer support W98. What happens when everyone stops supporting WXP???

Forgive me if it's been answered, but I couldn't find it w/ my bad eyes and lots to read.
Is there an up to date list of tweaks to speed up ViSTA, disabling the stuff most will not need?
I have VISTA Business x64 and moved from older VISTA Premium x64. Has drivers been updated for Creative and Adobe .dll's to work better since early 2007?
I had issues trying to run Adobe Audition 2.0, Adobe PDF virtual printer for x64 fix/mod and cannot run CD for Creative Audigy Platinum Pro (works fine under XP x64 and Server 2K3 x64).
I just want to slim it down to use less RAM under idle desktop and perform better under load in heavy media encoding. Has VISTA shown any advances yet for Xvid and or DVD transcoding?

Better off with Server 2003 R2 SP2 x86 or x64. I found it much more stable then XP x86.
As for more compatability with certain apps, I chose XP x64 SP2 for daily use and mobile stability. It's essentially XP x86 with added stability of Server 2003. And why shouldn't it be, it was derived from it. You even get the recoverability of old XP x86. In Server 2003 you can add system restore if you have to have it , but not the most stable. There's better recovery tuff out there, hence the reason it is not included in S2K3.
Just my thoughts!

I am in the market to buy a new computer but the one I want only comes with Vista. From all that I hear about Vista, even with SP1, it's still not as good as XP as far as speed and using up the computers resources, and seems to have more than it's fair share of bugs in it.
In the opinion of those far more knowledgeable than I should I wait to get a computer or would it be worth my time and money to buy the new computer take the Vista off and add the XP? I will be needing the 64 bit OS in order to operate what I want on the computer and would XP be able to run the newer hardware like the TV tuners and newer ROM drives, etc.?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I was wondering for the power options where u change from like power saver to high performance if theres like a timer of some sort. Like how I want my computer to run high performance from like 7 in the morning til like 9 at night then it goes into power saving by itself until its 7 in the morning again unless i change it manually. If there was a way it would save me alot of time and I won't have to worry about forgetting to go into power saving mode.

Are you speaking of all or full ACPI modes as likt C1+TM then S3 then to S4? you can just set to go into each after a certain number of minutes or hours ater inactivity. So even if you for one day stop early, it save power sooner. I dont know about VISTA for certain, most better mobo BIOS can do a wake up resume from S3/S4 on a timer in BIOS.

Were you playing a song when you opened Media player? Was the Now Playing tab click? If so you'll get a visual of the playing music something akin to my generation's awful attempts of illusions while on an LSD trip. LMFAO Your video card should be alright especially if everything else looks OK! You made my day! Me thinks you chose wrong OS! Good luck!
Edit: If this is so, just click on LIBRARY tab. To view what's in it.

I used to get this problem and the only way i fixed this problem was getting a graphic card and installing it. Then the lines in Windows Media Centre go and you will see the program in all its glory.

Any Nvida Card and Ati card should do the trick mate. I went with a Nvidia Gforce 512MB GS 7600. Works like a charm
I think if you go for a minumum of 128 or above you should b kewl in either of those 2 cards.
