In the middle of my Xbox 360 hack but stuck!!! please help asap

i have created a bootable floppy with the required files. i have a samsung drive in my xbox. i have connected my xbox 360 dvd drive to my pc SATA socket.
i booted via floppy and typed in mtkflash r/m orig.bin
it comes up and asks 4 options:
1: IDE sec master
2: IDE sec slave
3: ICH5 pri master
4: ICH5 pri slave
i click on 1: IDE sec master
it than say's:
Port: 170, Master Slave: A0
and i cant do anything else except click escape, and exit it.
what shall i do now?
Both my xbox 360 and pc are on as instructed in the tutorial.
I have waited about 10 minutes and nothing appears after i select the drive. no floppy disk is written to! no light flashes.
how long should it really take?
please reply asap i have my pc opened up and my xbox 360 opened, i want to finish this asap.

You have a SATA drive connected to your PC.
IDE does not mean SATA.
ICH5 (Intel I/O Controller Hub 5) takes care of SATA, USB 2.0 etc.
Maybe you should have chosen No. 3?

ok, i will give it a try in 10 minutes. just waiting for my dad to finish using my pc. i have to reconnect the cables.
i will tell the results in a minute.
one more thing, wot should the drive show up as? what should my xbox 360 drive be called on my pc?

not bad idea, but he already mad i opened up my xbox 360. everyone in my house thinks i will not be able to complete this hack. but i say i will even though it may take a bit of time. my dad reckons i'm too young to try this stuff (i'm 15yrs old), but i cant be bothered to listen to adults, they worry too much about the negative effects!
im using my laptop at the moment, i will get on my pc in a mo.

it says reading:
flash type: sst(sst39sf29)
how do i know this is my xbox drive?
i clicked option 3 as u said. thanks for that

another problem, it goes to 14% reading, i hear the floppy disk working, but than it stops.
it says read error.
i than booted back to windows and checked the floppy it had no space left. the orig.bin file was there but not completed because there was not enough space on the floppy disk!!!!!
what shall i do now? can i use anything else?
is usb supported? cd-rom?
if yes tell me how i can get it started

can you save this file you need to a cd, then boot from cd? if the file is too big for the floppy, then use a cd r! let me know, i am curious to see how you make out!

you should right click on the A: drive and then click format and then click bootable cmos disk. then click start. it should reformat the disk. then you will have to start over making it again. but it should hold the files. my floppy did anyways.

ok, i read is correctly. the problem was i had a few extra files on my floppy which i did not need . once i deleted them there was alot of space left.
i have easily dumped my firmware on the floppy disk. i have edited it using hexworkshop. now i have my modified my firmware, and just need to put that on my xbox drive.
i'll tell you the results in about 20 minutes if everything goes fine, if i dnt reply that means it didn't work, and i am reattempting.
wish me luck, i just want to see my xbox work again!!!

ok i put the modifed firmware on my xbox 360.
i started my xbox 360 and the dashboard comes thankgod.
anyway, as soon as i put in a ORIGINAL game like FIFA 06, it says
"to play this disk, put it in an Xbox 360 Console"
whats this all about???
it wont even play original games!!!
i live in the UK, i dont think this is a regional problem, because i played the game before, but maybe i missed something out which caused this!!!
i am going to put back the original firmware and see if it works normally, while i am doing that please help me and tell me wot the problem could be? cud i have missed something out?

i put my original firmware on the xbox 360 drive and now it works perfectly.
maybe i did not hexedit it properly
i could not find a modified extremehack firmware.
if u can provide me with a link of where i can get it from that would be great.
i am going to give it a break now, i goin to play a football match, i'll be back at 8pm, to continue hacking, if u can write some info between the time dat wud be great. thanks alot.

I have not done the firmware hack myself yet agent (I new you would be the first on afterdawn to do it, I remember when I first posted it, you really could not wait could you) anyway here is something that might help you(no maual hex editing it says, hopefully you can find the file)here is the news link anyway

thanks for the info, ye if i get it working i am willing to write and help others.
anyway today me and my friend were going down to the park to play football, i was telling him about the xbox 360 hack. another boy overheard us, and asked if i would do it for him! he offered me £50 to hack his xbox 360. i told him i cannot even do it myself successfully yet and there is a risk i may ruin his xbox and therfore the risk is to great for me.
i was a bit suprised to see how much they are willing to pay for this hack.
anyway, i will try and hack my xbox again and see if i can do it successfully by using a diffrerent hacked firmware.
i'll let u know tommorrow, thanks for the help so far

Ok, Ive done the hack sucessfully many times now.
Make sure when your hexediting the key into the extreme firmware that offset starts from 4000 to the line just before 4200 and not the line with the 4200 on itthat should not be highlighted

hi i have just finished modding my xbox successfully yesterday. and now im having trouble making a backup. i want to know if there is a way to burn a backup with out opening my dvd burner or flashing the xtreme0800.bin firmware everytime i make a game. can someone please give me an alternative to burn a back up with out doing one of them things.
any posts appreciated. thanks

gamer17 : how is it you modded your 360 if you never flashed it or removed the drive????? i saw another thread where you or someone explianed on how to back up games AFTER the mod . you were right there somehow...
so unless you mean xbox 1 lol then you are lieing about modding your 360
BTW: wheres agent???? sounds like this kid got a scene going.... theirs been 2 or so diffrent ppl making the mod but dont you require modifing the firware then soildering?

ok i have finally done it. i have officially hacked the Xbox 360, i am probably the youngest boy to ever do it!!!
at the moment i have only tried running a original game, and it works unlike last time i tried.
the back-ups will obviously also work. i just bought a Dual layer burner to copy my games as i only have a external one which i cannot open. unless there are other methods please tell me.
i would like to thank everyone who gave me links and advice!!!

You can instead of breaking the drive open put in the large (8GB+) DVD and then use the eject hole on the dvd drive and push the drive back in with the xbox 360 game in. It has been tested by many to work. I would use it not on your new burner though, probably should use it on a old dvd-rom or burner.

You could try downloading a game(just to test your hack+make sure it's a game you already owned so it's legal :))

na man it works if its modifed then its all good. theirs a thread somewhere on xbox 360 fourm on saying " how to back up xbox 360 games after the mod" or somtin like that ...
agent so fill me in you did not need to de soilder anyting? or what you do ???? plz say

Hi
Congrats Agent on the succesfull moding. I am going to buy anX360 soon. I know a store where i live that does the modding for 100$.
I want to save that money and do it myself. Do i need to have a floppy drive for the bpptable disk, or i can just use a CD and burn on it instead?
