I've been tried two ways to burn it so far.

1) I bought a RITEK DVD+R DL and then burn the ISO with the NERO at 2,4x (I have a MARS modchip).

Result: My PS2 show me the red screen (INSERT A ORIGINAL DISC), or something like that.

2) I tried to rebuild the ISO into a DVD5 following the guide of Mik3h. Rebuild the 7,8gb ISO into a 3,9gb and then burn it with the DVD Decrypter in a SONY DVD-R at 2x.

Result: My PS2 do not recognize the DVD.

Anyone knows a way or a guide to burn or rebuid this game??? Thanks

And.... HAPPY B-DAY AFTERDAWN!!!

can your chip play original DVD9 games?
If so go out and find Toxic DL Patcher
this program will patch the game and let any chip that can play DVD9 Originals play your DVD9 back up that you patched with it.
Only certain chips like DMS4 Pro and Matrix Infinity can play DVD9 back ups without having to patch them.

I think some mars chips support DVD9, not sure which one you have so can't tell you for sure if it does or not though.

I didn't know that only a few chip could read DVD9. I have a MARS PRO GM603 chip, and i don't know if can read the DL discs.

As i said, i rebuild the original ISO (7,8gb), and get a rebuild ISO (3,9gb). Burn the last one with DVD Decrypter in a SONY DVD-R, but my PS2 (SCPH50001) don't even recognize it. (I used ISOBuster, CDVD Generator 1.5 and the Apache2 to rebuild the ISO)

I've got a DMS4 Pro SE installed in a v14 Slimline.
Backed this game up on an Imation DVD+R DL and works flawlessly.
Used Nero to backup.

nmpue:
Can you tell me (step by step) how do you backup this game?
I have the Champions Of Norrath ISO (7,8gb),
I have Nero 7,
I have a Verbatim DVD+R DL.
Do i need something more?

My PS2 is a SCPH50001 model (V9 i guess)

It is true that when you reach the half of the game, this freez up
(i read this somewhere). This happen to you with your backup?
Thanks!

Also read something about a "BOOKTYPE" thing and how to change it from DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM.
Someone can explain this to me? Thanks

Don't know about the freeze up, don't think I've got that far.
But I've backed up 2 dual layer games Champions of Norrath and Genji and they seem to play fine.
By the way I've got the ToxicOS installed on my PS2 which has the option of having DVD+R DL compatability.
As for backing up I just do it like any other, I select Copy DVD in StartSmart of Nero.
I had an old v4 Machine with a Messiah 2 Pro and I couldn't get dual layer games to work. Tried just about everything.

ToxicOS is an operating system created specifically for the DMS4 Pro chip. It gives the chip more options like adding a hard drive and stuff.
And the DVD+R DL compatability. I think it has to be flashed to the chip. Not sure cause I paid an installer to do it. I've got ToxicOS v.41 which is the latest I think. Don't know much about the Mars chip.

hrm... i see that this fellah has a problem... but i have an issue of my own... i bought a PS2 at a flea market (Couldn't Beat the price :þ).. the game they sold me with it was Champions of Norrath... it didn't play... later i found out that it was modded... only because it plays my burnt DVD's made from DVD Shrink... i tried 4 different ways to burn PS2 games... none of them worked.. i used Nero, Alcohol 120% (which has a function specifically for making an image for Playstation 2 games)and some other funky program i deleted pretty quick... yes i am using DVD R's... the game i am using as a test to burn is the almighty Dynasy Warriors 5... i don't knwo what else to do... any advise? is there just a lil' something i'm missing?

Thanx in Advance

Ok, i've rebuild the ISO, and works fine. (rebuild it with Gnie Expert 1.05)
But i've only rebuild the layer 0, the first layer of the ISO. Now my question:

HOW DO I REBUILD THE SECOND LAYER INTO A PLAYABLE DVD5?

The second layer only has a folder with the name "BG". The first layer also has it. Do i have to replace this folder with the one of the first layer?
Please help!

champions of norath is not a DVD-5 rip,its a 2 disk set
you need to extract both layers using apache or ultraiso, then rebuild the the game back onto 2 disks (its been ages since i looked at this game)so>>>
i cant remember the exact steps but there is a tutorial on ps2nfo.com
here is the link
