First of all, that is just bullsh*t, because not every torrent on TorrentLeech gets you a guaranteed 100 kbps.

Second, before telling someone something like that, you might want to consider the possibility that not everyone here has high speed internet.
So next time, think about that before you come up with advise like that, just so we don't end up getting flamed by someone who's pissed off because you gave him false info, ok ?

Well, ask someone who's a member of TL if they have one for you.
But be warned, you are NOT allowed to ask for invites here on this forum!

You are by no means GUARANTEED 100kbps download...
Didn't you read what i said at all ?

You don't seem to get the fact that not everyone here has dsl/cable/whatever.
I'm not saying i don't believe you, i'm saying you shouldn't assume that everyone else ALSO has high speed internet, as i have talked people through setting up BT clients who had a 50kbps up and down connections, and recently even someone on dial-up.

So ask what someone's connection speeds are BEFORE you tell them about those "guaranteed download speeds" as that doesn't necessarily apply to everyone.

98.7% of people in the uk have at least a 2mb connection which is over 100kb a sec

First, step off The Fiend, he hasn't said anything incorrect.

Secondly, 2mbs cable is some gd slow cable, but it's still cable. You're right that it IS capable of speeds over 100kb/s, but that doesn't mean it will GET there. Cable speeds are theoretical maxes. Actually touching over 80% of your max for a sustained download is...well, rare because of TCP/IP overhead, so...yea.

I doubt that you'll find many other users on this forum with more torrent/technical experience than myself, and while I usually maintain dl's in the 500kb/s range, sometimes I have to accept 30-50.

TomMelee, i'm not saying he's wrong, i'm saying he might want to consider the possibilty that not everyone that comes here with questions about connection speeds will have a high speed (or broadband, if you will) connection.
And because of that, i don't think one can say that 100kbps download is guaranteed without knowing all the facts.
That's all i'm trying to get clear here, no more, no less.
I'm not trying to get anything going, not implying he's wrong, i'm saying there's a broader perspective here.

*to any mods that might wander in here seeing this, we are now discussing this via pm in an orderly fashion, so as not to disrupt the thread any further, sorry for dragging it offtopic*

Back to the question at hand, Corey93, have you properly forwarded the port you use in your BT client on your router/firewall?
If not, have a look at : http://www.portforward.com/

@ PeterG969 & TomMelee:

Please take the time to actually read what The_Fiend is writing. There shouldn't be any confusion!

Simply put, don't say you gaurantee a certain speed with TL when you don't even know what they're using to connect. For all you know, it could still be a 56kb dial-up modem. I know a lot of people (all over the US) that still have dial-up.

There's nothing wrong with your statement, for you personally...just remember that some people live in the boonies and can't get cable, DSL, etc.

I don't think your connection is THAT fast...
Try having a look here : http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ to find out what your speed is (approximately).

HAHA oops I didn't make that clear.

I was telling the other guy to step off of The_Fiend. Not the other way around...I agree w/ The_Fiend, as usual. I was defending him. Sorry I don't type clearly sometimes.

Sorry about that feller. :) I was saying "Step off The Fiend", not "Step off, The Fiend!"...hear the pause, you'll see it.
