Autovoltage might have found that to work fine. All for the better, really!

Might not be right Question, Might be wrong thread, But here goes. I'm looking for a TV CARD that I can transfer some VCR Tapes to DVD. My friend has a card but the Video is blurred. any suggestions..and yes I know what the blur is.
A friend up N.Y State has an old ATI All In Wonder Card with no problems. But he told me it older 4, 5 yrs
Just a capture card name would be very helpful, and appreciated

OH just playing!! You do what you feel comfortable with.. I think that RAM can handle the 444-12 timings... but you are there and we are here. lol. GREAT to see my little RED's buddy cranking it again.. :D

hi rob,
good to see the big red monster back up n runnin. I noticed that everest is showing your vcore at 1.18v even tho you have it set at 1.225v. that's most likely due to vdroop. can you verify the actual vcore voltage in the bios.
as greeny said, :) you can go ahead and set the dram timings at 4-4-4-12 as long as it is rated at cas 4 and not cas 5. did it say on the package or modules? you can probably get away with dram voltage of 2.1v unless you are going to OC the memory. if it's rated at 2.2v tho, that's where I would run it at. looks like it's running at 1.89v now. I would verify that in the bios too.
I'm by no means telling you what to do, just trying to help. tell me to hush and I'll do so ;)

i did set the cpu voltage back to auto. and i have left the mem volts alone right now. i will go into bios and check the actual volts and temps there. also change the mem to 4-4-4-12 and yes Mort they are cas 4 and the volts are 2.2v for them.
here is another everest shot
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i196/Cincrob/everest-5.jpg
ill go into bios again and make the changes and do everest again.
do ya think its to soon to run orthos on it?

Rob I would use Realtemp for your temp readings... I think the TJ Max is more accurate for your cpu... it's ultimately up to you but it will read at least 5*C lower..... anyway you is the master of your domain!!!

theonejrs..If thats the case how is my friend with The ATI All in Wonder card able to do it he has no other special functions all he does is hit play on his VCR and record on the ATI bundled software, which converts to mpeg then he uses specific programs to convert to DVD..I'm aware of all converting procedures (VOBs Mpeg AVI etc) ConvertX,TMPGEncDVDAuthor, Clone DVD AnyDVD etc. I just need a up to date card That will eliminate the scrambled effect or a card with a good program to modify with the same results

sammy love the Q6600!!
What about these choices as well??
Wololo,
XFX gpu (similar to the ASUS sammy recommended)
mobo choices
I included a few different choices just because we all like different manufacturers. I'm not sure on the ASUS P5K-E but some research will defend it or condemn it.. lol.
Everything on that list has RAID except the Gigabyte DS3L... I included it because it's such a solid board for the money and if you don't need RAID it's a great choice.
good luck!!

The all in Wonder is an older card and has that feature. Some of the newer DVDs won't play on it unless you can turn it off. I ran into that with the eMachine when I tried to play "The Golden Compass"! It wouldn't allow me to play it because I would be able to record it and shut down the program. I had to change video drivers to ones that don't support that feature just to watch it! Big Brother is watching! LOL!!
cincyrob,
Try right clicking on the bottom question mark and then click update driver. It may have to do with your HD sound! I had that with the Rev. 1.0 MB! You might also put the MB disk in and see if all the drivers are installed. Just let it scan and it will tell you if something is not installed.
Best Regards,
Russ

XFX or BFG close enough. lol. Didn't even notice that when I linked it... ;)
How bout some of those mobo choices guys?? I know I'm opening a possible can of worms but there are some good ones for not much money on that list. W/O much debate or criticism is that ASUS mobo ok?? I still really like the DFI boards. :)

NO political talk in here please. This is a tech forum and political conversations of any sort are discouraged and NOT allowed. Now if you would like to discuss your computer and it's internal workings I think we can accommodate you sir.
And yep I like the DFI brand, but DON'T own any yet tho!!! :D
Any other smarty pants remarks you would like sir?? :P
