I have just converted a divx file to VCD using your "Divx to VCD guide". I followed every step without changing a thing. I didn't separate the audio as it was encoded in Mp3 and not AC3. I didn't include subtitles so I jumped the sub steps. Everything worked perfectly well and the VCD was burned well.
Despite this, while playing it in the DVD player, the audio runs ahead of the video.
The Divx file played perfectly well in my computer.
Is there any way to solve this problem?
Thanks

Was the avi encoded with vbr mp3 or cbr mp3 ?
with cbr you're good to go but vbr will have to be converted to a wav, then re encoded 'back' to cbr mp2.

Thats true, i actually decompress any mp3 in an avi file before i run it through anything! Although it doesnt really matter with DVD2SVCD cause that will do it anyway!

Thanks a lot. I still need to give it a try. I really don't know if the mp3 is vbr or cbr. Do I use the same guide of the AC3 to decompress the mp3 to WAV, or would you recommend me another way. Thanks

do the following

open the AVI in virtualdub

1. click video - direct stream copy
2. click audio - full processing mode
3. click audio - compression, select no compression pcm and click ok
4. click file - save as avi

Now the AVI you will have saved will have decompressed audio!
