I have had ipod for just 2 days and it froze when playing an audio track through docking station and speakers. I couldn't do anything except RESTART as on web instructions but it then gave an instruction to RESTORE. Ive tried this several times and have also reinstalled the ipod software on my computer, restarted etc but every time the restore process is completed I get another message saying that software is damaged and it is necessary to restore. Is there anything else I can try or should I return the ipod??

Try downloading the newest updater and restore it with that updater. Post back, on what happens.

thanks for your response. I have been to apple support website and downloaded updater but this has made no difference - after restore is completed it just returns to the restore option and the ipod is showing the do not disconnect symbol.

It should do that. Go into iTunes on disconnect it and inplug it from the USB port. It will come to a Screen that says "Pleas Waight" it will do a few weird Screens, and if every thing works it will ask you to select you language. If it dosent do that take it ato a Apple STore and they should Swap it out for you No questions asked.

Thanks, I have a replacement now - it does seem to freeze quite often so im not sure if im doing something wrong or if this is just normal.
