dumping a umd is backing up a game to iso format. iso's can be ran from the memstick but currently its only possible on a 1.5 psp. fastloader can also only be ran on 1.5. theres two folders, FASTLOADER, FASLOADER%. You would drop both folders to the game folder on your psp.

hey thanx....
well i have firmwire and have been doing my research! hehehe and was wondering if there was a free way to downgrade to 2.0 or 1.5...stupid me upgraded cause wanted to play Fifa! So is there and if not the ones that u have to pay for do they work on 2.8?

please remove your email addy from your last post. but there is currently no way to downgrade a 2.8. If someone says they can and its a service you pay for its bogus so dont go for it. Once a way to downgrade 2.8 becomes available it will be for FREE and all over psp websites like.

you woudl use fastloader to dump the umd. you would then get an iso out of it. you install devhook on your psp and drop the iso in the iso folder. start up devhook with the iso of choice selected then put a umd in and boot the iso. thats an extremely short version of how to do it. but remember you have to have 1.5 in order for all this to work.

dump means to copy or backup the inserted UMD. yes i have msn, if you pm me i will be happy to help you out. but before we go thru all this explaining and learning do you have 1.5? Or are you just curious and want to know how its done.

well i reallly reallly want 1.5 and when the downgrader comes out i will download everything from emulators to isos...and yes im curious...hehehe see when i get 1.5 then i wont have to research and can just get to the chase...also what time is it there where ur at! its 3:26 am here! I REALLY NEED STUFF ON MA PSP!!!

hi all i downgraded from 2.6 to 1.5 ,got freeloader 07,but i carnt play any iso games over 1.5 how do use fakeupdater or is there any other way(a part from updateing)

Great, glad you got it working.
You need to use a UMD dump application, there are several different ones available. See psp-hacks for a choice. I'm sure someone can recommend which is the best/easiest to use.

i tried the hodgins link as i live in UAE all uploading sites r blocked here like megaupload and rapidshare and also tried to download umddaxdumper frm psp-hacks its gud but usbhostfs i cannot find a gud 1 for windows i need a link of the whole stuff needed for the tutorial pls can someone give me link(s) to it pls i want to dump umd to my pc
