Copying Disney Movies

I am trying to make backup copies of my disney movies (so the kids don't completely destroy them!!). I am using DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink in conjuction with Nero Smartstart, with DVD43 running in the background. This will not bypass the Copy protection. Can anyone help me with a program or idea to circumvent this? Many Thanks!

Get rid of DVD43. Totally uninstall it. Since you already have DVD_Decrypter and DVD_Shrink, you should download RipIt4Me and FixVTS. RipIt4Me will use these programs to rip any movie you want.

you could also give the AnyDVD trial a whack; if you like it, it's the program definitely worth purchasing. then again, DVDFab Decrypter will work, too.

Okay, I uninstalled DVD43 : and installed Ripit4me.... now the DVD Decrypter keeps freezing, and returning mass error messages like "access violation' or 'invalid pointer operation' approx. 10 to 15 times, until i cntrl-alt-dlte and end decrypter. ????

download DVDFab Decrypter and give it a spin...you can open the ripped movie with DVDShrink, edit, and burn away. i've never bothered to use RipIt4Me, so i can only advise what i know works well every time for me.

As Auslander said try the free 21 day trial of AnyDVD at Slysoft.com. It will get the job done simply. After the trial you will buy it. It makes Decrypter, ImgBurn and Shrink all work properly again.

I followed the tutorial for RipIt4Me.... installed all the updated programs (mine were out of date!) .... ran like a dream.

DVDD is no longer updated and hasn't been in some time; that's why it needs the additional help of programs like AnyDVD.

Well I never have any trouble with it. AnyDVD costs money. The whole point is to avoid paying money. If your going to pay money you might as well just buy the damn DVDs.

well, afterall, everyone who's making legal backups already bought one copy of the dvd; a few dollars more to easily make unlimited copies is nothing.
that said, there are freeware alternatives to AnyDVD that work as well. however, do not make the highly inaccurate statement that DVD Decrypter can copy fine on it's own. that completely neglects all protections made in the past...oh, year and a half now, i believe, as well as all DVD-9 discs, unless one is making double-layer copies.

Maybe YOU just don't know how to use it right. I have movies coming in everyday from netflix and they all copy just fine. AnyDVD is like AOL, for losers who can't figure out how to use the real tools themselves. With Vob Blanker and PGC Edit, I have complete control over my DVD's I can edit them to do anything I want.

Umm, sure. I don't know what i am talking about. After copying 200 DVDs I don't know what I'm talking about. I can help you learn how to use PGC Edit, if you want. However, I can not help you with your anger management problems.

id3372: just above you said DVD Decrypter was all you needed. now you're declaring that you use more software, just as i said you needed to. there's no need nor reason to dispute facts. AnyDVD is a tool, like any other. the amount of tools one needs to do a job depends on the quality of tools, the quality of the work of the worksman, and the overall desired quality of the end product.
through several threads, you have been trying to act like AnyDVD is nothing but crap; this may be your opinion, but again you're arguing with facts. some tools are better than others; it depends on the hand that wields them, the majority of the time. however, anyone can easily use AnyDVD; most people don't want to bother getting as in-depth as you do, as their time is worth more to them as yours seems to be to you; the cost of AnyDVD is worth that time.

AnyDVD is around for the sakes of simplicity, ease of use, and diehard reliability. no one's trying to arge that other programs aren't as good; the facts just add up to conclude that AnyDVD is worth the price.

Well can AnyDVD split a movie in half(one movie on two discs) so there is no loss in quality?
Can it then edit the navigation structure of the first dvd to include a "story continues on disc 2 message" and edit the navigation structure of the second movie so it skips straight to the movie, if you want it too?
Can AnyDVD extract a Music Video into a VOB file from the extras section of a DVD.?

that's not the purpose of AnyDVD. that's like asking a dog to meow. AnyDVD is a helper program; it's job is only to disable copy protection, though i do list many other things it does here.

Well you can use DVD Decrypter or DVD43 to decrypt the DVD.
Splitting it into two pieces is actually quite easy with Vob Blanker.
If you want to get fancy with the navigation structure, this requires PGC edit.
