Thanks Jasper44!
No word on Best Buy? The Verbs at Office Max are an OK price. But I would certainly wait for a $14.99 or less price on those. Unless one is really in dire need. The free optical
mouse is nice if you need one though! :-)

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

@Jasper44

Thanks for the info on the sales, always great to know ahead of time. Think I will pick up some of the Sony's that is not a bad price for 50. Did the Verbs when BB had them on sale and that was a better price than the 16.99 one.

Best Buy has the sale for Verb Lightscribe. It's really cheap now. It's the 30 pack for 20 bucks. The sale price used to be 25. I don't need them though, I have like 12 spindles of lightscribes lol.

Again:

Best Buy
Verbatim 30-pack Lightscribe DVD+R - $19.99

I wouldn't doubt that sometimes one store will have more than one sales circular printed, wait till the last minute to see what someone else is gonna do, then put out the circular they want or perhaps some sales might be localized.

Either way, I love this heads up media sales thread Jasper44 does. That's what we're all here for - to help each other!

Check this out!
I went to Staples & they had only MIT Sony's. I took the AD to Circuit City where they had 2 only of Genuine Sony DVD+R 8X.
Taiyo Yudens! Circuit City has 110% Price match, I walked away with the last 2 50 packs of Sony DVD+R 8X MIJs by Taiyo Yuden for.....
$10.28 per 50 pack spindle!+tax Grand Total of $21.58 for 100!!!!
Media ID YUDEN000 T02
My Lucky Day I guess. :-)
"Work those 110% price match stores"
Staples price=$12.98 each. Circuit City's regular price=$39.99 each
Difference of $27.01 each, 10% of that is $2.70 off the $12.98 Staples price!=$10.28 each.
Edited a typo.:(

MIT Fujis, at least the 8x ones, are ProDisc RC03, or something like that.

I've used them a handful of times (they're my brothers). They are not terrible (much better scores/success than other brands, that's for sure) but they're still not TY or Verb.

I have used the Prodisc 16X +R Fuji's with no troubles. The Fuji disks seem a little thinner than my TY, Verb or Sony. The -R 16x Fuji's are RitekF and are okay but there can be problems with degradation and reflectivity, unlike the +R Fuji.

Went to Best Buy today armed with the Staples ad on 50 Sony DVD+R disks for $12.99 because I had an additional $5 off Rewards coupon to use as well. Price would have been $7.99 for the 50 disks! Evil grin partially hidden.

Well, BB would NOT match the ad price. They said Staples is not in their neighborhood - WHAT?? This ad was for Sony disks, not Staples brand! What do you mean "neighborhood"? They said they would honor K-Mart or Office Depot ads - not Staples or Circuit City. Guess neighborhood means one of those stores must be on the same street as Best Buy. Want to see the mgr, but was told he/she was not there today. Yeah, right!

So, I went to Staples and took them one of my empty ink cartridges for $3 off. Got the 50 Sony +R disks for $9.99 - not bad I guess. Wish they had been made in Japan, but they were made in Taiwan and code as Sony D21.

Yeah that is a lie. In retail, there must always be at least one manager on hand--there are usually 2 or 3 on hand at all times.

Went back to Staples and got another set of disks (less the ink discount). This time I went for the -R ones with the octagon spacer. Coded as TYG03. Nice.

While out I went to Best Buy to see the Manager (who ever wears the tag that day). Was told the place must be a "local competitor" - define local as you see fit at the moment. Would NOT honor they alledged matching policy.

Bottom line is that I am swearing off (or at) BB in the future.
