Anyone ever seen a 100 pack of the -R Sonys with the white octagonal spacer. I haven't and I always look.

Yes, USA price. I have yet to see the octagonal spacer. But have not given up yet.

If you have a Sam's Club near you, you may check there. Here in Nashville, TN, they have a 75-pack (25/50) of Sony for $25.73 (regular price). That's about 37 cents each which is including 9.75% TN sales tax. Some are MIJ, some are MIT. You just need to look through the stacks. I found three MIJ. May go back tomorrow for more. I've heard Costco sometimes has really good prices too. Good luck!
Edit: Don't bother with Target. I happened to look while I was there just out of curiosity. A Sony 25-pack is $15.99.

So these Song DVD+R are good media, right? Not as good as the Verbs, but still good enough to buy safely?

Not too shabby. All the tubs I have seen have been japanese and taiwanese, no tys among them. Both japanese and the taiwanese sony +16x will ID as SonyD21 and I agree they are pretty good. I'm still waiting till they get some Yuden000-T03 in them.

If anyone is in the Harrisburg,PA area, Bestbuy has 8- 50 packs of Sony DVD+R's that are MIJ for $12.98/pack. Now heres the kicker..they all have MIJ written on them, but no octagon spacer, and they say 16x. I almost bought a pack just to see what they are. But im low on funds and just bought 100 8x last week . Anyone else run into this yet?

Yep, seen the Sony 16x DVD+R MIJs. They are NOT Taiyo Yuden. They are Sony's "House Brand". OK, but not the caliber of the 8x MIJ, I would go as far as saying that Verbatim DVD+R 16x are better quality. Given the choice, I would buy Verbatim DVD+R 16x over those any day.

Personally, my new favorites are the Maxell MXL003 MIJ 16x +R discs . . I'm getting awesome scans on them using my BenQ DW1640, 1650 and 1670 . . I'm burning them at 12x and 16x and the quality scores are 98 and 99 . . just a tick ahead of the YudenT02 . . As far as I'm concerned, for some strange reason, the MCC004 discs have gone down in quality over the last year . . . My HP likes them but the Maxells are still better . .

I have not seen any Maxell 16x MIJs anywhere. They sound awesome. What Store did you find these in? If you don't mind me asking.
I have a few Maxell 002. DVD+R 8x MIJs. They are sweet!

I purchased 400 of them this week at Office Depot for a tick less than $106 . . they were $24.99/50, buy one get one free

@bunnyrip dont make a big deal out of thos sony 8x MIJ's they will not even play on my dvd player lol....everything made in japan is not good
the sony 16x DVD+R play just fine...made in tawian :)

I went to OD last week but could not find any 16X MIJ Maxell +Rs. All were made in Taiwan. I did find 3 packs of 8XMIJ Max, but they were not on sale, 50 @30 bucks. I passed on both. I did buy ther +RWs MIJ which were Ritek 004s.

Don't pan those Sony 8X +R MIJ. They code out as TaiyoYuden T02s arguably one of the best +Rs ever produced by anyone. You got a bad batch or something wrong with your DVD player especially if you book typed those to DVD-ROMs.

They wern't on sale last week at OD . . the sale runs from the 24th-30th and our local OD had lots and lots of 8x MIJ, 8x MIT, 16x MIJ and 16x MIT . . and their +RW discs aren't MIJ, they're MIT and ALL Ritek are MIT . . I've NEVER seen MIJ +RW discs of any brand . . I bought 2 packages of Maxell +RW while I was there, also 15 for $7.99 . . and yes, they are Ritek004 . . MIT

I was just wondering every time I purchase verbatim dvd- or + r they are mit and the +r code at mcc 004, -r mcc 03rg20, and the +dl mkm 001. the dl's are made in singapore. these are all bought at best buy are they any good or am I getting the shaft?. thanks in advance.

i was just wondering the same thing, going to check out the sonys at staples in the morning if i dont find any mij what should i look for in the verbs? only mij? never bought verbs before would appreciate someone making it crystal clear what is what when it comes to them, thanx a bunch!

The only place that I've ever heard of MIJ Verbs is in Europe . . The MIT MCC discs are good and the Singapore DL discs are, believe it or not, the best available
