Hmm, it seems you have burner issues...The 16x and 36x are DVD read speeds so you should check your settings and make sure its on CD. If that doesn't work try this, load your CD-r into the drive (w/out alcohol open). Wait for the CD to load inside, then open up alcohol. Add your .cue or .ccd file and then hit next...It SHOULD go to the final burn screen with MAXIMUM as the default read setting...hit the drop down and select 4x.
I'll include an image here..
NOTE:If you are burning a PSX game you should use a cd-R and make sure its on playstation (bottom left where it says DATATYPE)
IF you are on the other hand burning a PS2 game you MUST use a DVD(DVD-r preferably) and of course change the datatype to PS2.
I know you are comfortable with nero and so was i but you will notice NERO does not have the PSX and PS2 datatype option which i like. Im not too sure if it makes much of a difference though...
Hello I'm new here and Every time I try to make an image it says "error ps2mame.elf collides with kinst2 lba" so then I changed the ps2mame.elf's lba and then a new one popped up saying "error sjpcm.irx collides with vsav lba so I changed that to.I burned the .cue file using img burn at 4x speed and then I booted it up with swap magic and after the www.ps2newz.net logo pos up all I see is a black screen with blue borders.Alot of people have had the same problems.P.S.I wrote down the lba before i changed the system.cnf's lba so that the .elf and the .irx had their same lba's before I changed the .cnf's lba. Please help I really want to play mvsc.

I've finally made a disc without changing anything but when I burnt it I got the black screen again so I did the exact same thing I did last time all over again in cdgen and this time it said that shinobi's lba collided with mame.elf.I don't get it why did it create the image right the first time and not the second please help.
OK,I've finally made a mame disc but when I go to load the the roms it says loading for like 1 second and then it goes back to the main menu please respond quickly I need help
To anyone getting the black screen/blue border: I wasted about half a dozen discs before I realized what the problem was. When I saw what it was, I felt like a total moron: I'd spelled one of the game names wrong on the gamelist file! Doh!

Open Nero SELECT DVDUDF/ISO Put the files and ROM folder in.
BURN AT 4x
Now I know that some do and some don't.
Does anyone know if this is intented for certain dates?
(ie games produced before 90's?
From what I understand, this was just made as a proof-of-concept type thing, and hasn't been worked on since this version. So basically, they made a version that works to show it can be done and that was it.
I've made a few more CD's of this and from my experience so far, the only games that work smoothly are the early 80's games...I had Time Fighter 84 and Super Pac Man running and playable. Later games run with considerable slowdown and aren't really playable. Even Terra Cresta (from 85!) was very slow.
You can actually make a CD with more than 30 games if you unzip them and put each game in its own folder in the ROMS folder in place of the zipped files...thing is, you can't scroll down the list page by page like with emu's such as PGEN and IMBNES. You literally have to scroll down each game name one by one...so if you make a disc with hundreds of games it might take you a while to get to Zaxxon...

mame ps2 is for very old games flike for example atari and early 80s
Yeah. I'm basically using this for games not available on any of the PS2 compilations like Taito Legends and Namco Museum. Sure, I can play them on Mame on my computer, too, but I prefer to play games sitting on the couch than hunched over the keyboard!
One thing I can't figure out on this thing...is there any way to go back to the main menu when you are playing a game...or is the only way to do it by resetting each time you want to change games?

You Have To Reset Your Ps2 Every Time (It Sucks Huh?)
Oh and Final Questions Before I get Over This Thread It's Like Three Years Old Do You Think I could Get BattleToads Working On This? Also If This Emulator Can't Handle 2D Capcom Fighters,Why did The Author Of This Guide Use Soul Calibur As An Example?
SOULCALIBUR won't work ... what i know is a 3d game sometimes mame for the pc doesn't even load the rom . i have no idea why he put that game on the list maybe he wants attention.
