There have been reports that gta might be on the wii, in my poiint of view i think it most probably is a no but seing that the wii has some tittles and 3rd party compannies that have never been with nintendo until the wii this wouldnt be a suprise to me i think that of it like this:

Rock star seem to have a habit of being loyal to the systems that are selling the most they know that Ubinsoft have created 8 games because of the excitement of the Wii, if it dose happen it will happen in mid 07 because they will see how well the Wii sells.

Um I say no. I think it will only be for ps3 and xbox 360. Also on hte rockstar web site they say un the picture of GTA IV it say's for ps3 xbox 360.

Would like to see it on Wii, and i can see it playing on Wii but to be honest i doubt Rockstar will be bothered enough to make a Wii version, but you never know!

It is possible im 50/50 on that because grand theft is hardcore and I dont know if big N wants to play with it because the controversy because of the hot coffee but my other side of me says if Rockstar is out to make more paper then this is a no contest lol money talks and it might happen

i think it might be but i dont no which one to think as its so close imk saying yes because they got so many third party game makers now some which we thought would never come to nintendo and for no rockstar has never made a game i think for nintendo

Oh yeah that is like mobster type gta i enjoyed it on the ps2 but I wouldent want to buy it and play it on another system...

I say 98.9% no. There are many reasons. Nintendo has historially been very much against realistic violence, and rarely allows an M-Rated game at all (That's not to say it's never happened *Cough* conker *cough*). As a generalization, they only allow a very small handful of titles bearing an M-Rating to be licensed. They seem to have some degree of.... 'pickiness' about when they allow an M-Rated game.
It should also be noted, most publishers who bear M-Rated games do not typically seek out Nintendo, because historically, they've never made much money on Nintendo platforms. Rockstar is in it for the money, and the money alone(That's not a bad thing or a strike against them, it's just a fact); if they feel that the Wii will really have a large support base, they'll release it. But if they look at history, and what sells on Nintendo platforms in the past, they won't.
The real question is, can Nintendo prove to developers like Rockstar, that it has a large enough mature market to warrant the developer's time in porting?

I think that could be easily proven with the Resident Evil franchise alone.
It wouldn't be a port, though. Hardware limitations and the controller wouldn't allow a "port" so Rockstar would have to start from scratch. But given the Wii's relative low cost of development, I think the benefits would definately outweigh the costs.
Personally, I'm not holding my breath for a GTA game on the Wii, but if anybody from nintendo could make that happen, it would be Reggie.

First off RE. Let's be realistic, this was a couple years after RE3, which while being a WONDERFUL game, didn't sell well at all. At the time, the franchise was doing dismally. Then the RE remake, and RE0 didn't sell very well at all either. RE4 was the only one that did well. But in reality, there's a good reason for that.
RE and RE0 on the cube were disasters. They just weren't good games.
RE4 was a masterpiece. And for over a year, it was a masterpiece only available on the Gamecube, people actually bought the system, JUST to play the game. It would have done well on any system, as the PS2 re-release well over a year later more than proved.
This proves that a game primarily on the system can do well, but not necessarily as a simultaneous release. Capcom sold temporary exclusivity rights to Nintendo for a decent chunk of change, becuase they were seeing poor sales at the time, and needed a quick way to sort of infuse some more cash into their budget. Remember, this is the same era that saw titles like Dino Crisis 3... *Shudder*
It does show that Nintendo will allow *some* M-Rated games, like I said before, but they have turned away the more... 'Controversial' titles like Grand Theft Auto in recent years; because they don't want the bad press, or the image. Notably though, before GTA started making headlines in the media as a 'murder simulator', Rockstar was releasing the older titles on the GBA and GBC... But once they got media attention, Nintendo stopped licensing the game series.
It's not to say that these titles wouldn't sell at all; because they would. But multi-platform titles generally have a hard time making much money to begin with(In most cases, but not all), and game companies know a lot of people have more than one system. So, they pick the systems that will yield the highest sales. You can't honestly tell me that you believe GTA would sell better on the Wii than the 360 or the PS3. It's just not going to happen. That's not to say the expereience wouldn't be just as good, or even better with the controller; but it won't sell better.
As for Godfather, that's by EA, who will release for almost any system on earth. ANYTHING. They were one of the last publishers still making N-Gage titles.
As for Goldeneye.... Rated 'T' for Teen. Both of them, the old N64 great, and that pile that EA released more recently. Perfect Dark however, was rated M, but was only allowed because of Rare's tremendous success with the last title; and it required a LOT of pushing and shoving from Rare's development and design teams.
For all these reasons I stand by my 98.9% no statement. There are exceptions, henceforth I'm not saying 100%; but it seems just THAT unlikely that it will happen.
It's posts like the above that make me realize I really have no life whatsoever.

NoA is legally capable of releasing a title, because they are a United States company entity. I think they have done it before, but I'm not sure what game it might have been. They probably need clearance from NoJ.

To shed some new light on the subject, Hanhunt 2 is being developed for the ps2, psp, and *gasp* Wii.
Looks like Rockstar has some interest in the Wii. Depending on how successful the Wii version is, I don't see anything stopping Rockstar from developing more titles on the system.
You sticking to that 98.9% Handsom?
I havn't played the first manhunt. Is it any good?

He's sticking to it until the 24th, anyway.
I can't see why any SW mfr. wouldn't want to get all it's games on the Wii ASAP. The only thing I could imagine to stop them is (1) Poor leadership in their company (2) contractual agreements with other console mfr's like Sony and MS.
It would be a MAJOR loss of revenue for any mfr. to not make their top-selling games in the Wii format. With that said, I think you'll see GTA and Rockstar this year.
...but deadly for 12,000 years is Carbon 14.

Manhunt puts GTA to shame in the violence category. Im surprised that it is coming out on the wii.
Manhunt is a good game. Very brutal and sick. Chopping ppls heads of with a machete(several strokes ofcourse), sawing ppls heads off with a fiber wire, plus many other sick ways to off someone. And manhunt2 is going to be better than the first no doubt. All this on the wii but still no GTA?
strange...
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

Dam MANHUNT 2! LOL! even i didnt think that support and violence for nintendo would go that far when they said they werent aming only for kids now i know what they meant owell im getting it more chocking people with plastic bags LOL!
