Do you think the Wii will win the 7th Generation of conoles against the Playstation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360.

I will start it.
I think that the wii will win the race as the reasons being it's cheaper people will look for value, They have the same amount of good game as the ps3 and the 360 do its wii-mote is amazing its got great features Thats all.

I think PS3 will win because it is just so much it has to offer than all the rest.Movies,Games,Music, and hopefully more. With so much the psp it came with im pretty sure the ps3 will beat all the systems.
If the Wii can get the old systems games for free or really low priced, and have exclusive games like the Legend of Zelda it will probably come in second.

I still don't see a good reason to buy it or its games. My friend has one and i play his xbox from time to time but the only reason he bought it was for Halo3. I really wouln'd wan't to spend a lot of money on a system with 1 good game.

What NEW is playstation 3 bringing to the table? True it does have Blu-ray, and it is a pretty good deal at $500 considering this fact alone. My busted PS2 would say otherwise though.. seeing as how playing DVD movies on it (laser wasn't able to handle it) ruined it. Movies and music are both better played on different set tops. "All-in-one" systems that are packed with everything imaginable have a single problem; if one part breaks the rest of the unit is garbage.
I am not even sure what MrMexican is trying to say here: "With so much the psp it came with im pretty sure the ps3 will beat all the systems." If you are trying to say that the PSP is a success, I can tell you that you are 100% incorrect in that assumption. It is a total flop. It has not a single killer app, and no real reasons to warrant a purchase. I see PSPs discounted to around $80 (brand new) over here in Japan. DS on the other hand has been sold out since the new lite version was released. As in, you can not buy it without paying huge markups... That or wait in a line for 15+ hours. Oh, and the reason that DS is selling so well is because it has good games.
Wii will win if it has the games. So far, it seems to be getting all the right support that is needed to make a killer system. Two examples being SquareEnix and Capcom.
My money, and my time, are going to be with Nintendo in this round. It feels nice to be back.

even though my personal favotite out of all of them is the ps3 because of mgs and Blu-ray. i belive that the wii is going to be the most sucsesfull in this war mainly because of all the fun ninteido games like mario and not to forget what dazila said the wii priced at 250 Bucks makes it the cheapest and makes it the best value.The ps3 cant win cause sony didnt make enough, and for a while it will be sold out. to me idont care who wins, cause im gettin all 3 of them ,lol.

Well my personall favorite is the ps3 because with so much it comes with why not. When your going to spen more than 300 you got to atleast know what your getting.
In my area i buy used psp or broken psp and sell them for parts or the system. For the games I play some good ones Im not dissapointed by the games. Right now I can't wait for grand theft auto vice city stories and that new sonic game for psp. This is my opinion.

here my theory do to the number of Wii's being made which will be bought lol the number of 360's sold in Japan and due to the power and longevity of the ps3 this is how I think it will end up
2006 -07
1Wii will catch micro
2micro right behind
3. Sony slowly powering up
2007- 08
1.Wii dog fight
2.Ps3 neck and neck
3.xbox360
2009- 10
1 Ps3
2 360
3 Wii
I think the Wii will steal alot of votes and kick ass for about 4 to 5 years and then the Ps3 will catch up in later years along with the 360 so it will be a dog fight

Looks like no one likes the Xbox 360 I think the 360 will go crap against the wii and ps3 its sold 16 million which is ok but not great and what makes it worse its not selling that great even while its the only 7th Gen out

yeah thats tru Daz well lol this thread is about opinions so I dont think the Mods will ban us as long as we keep it truthful and peaceful. We are just sayin who will when or who we think . I 'm not flaming in fact I gave the Wii hell of props cause it will dig in Sonys ass for awhile its very creative so I know once the (imma say other console lol since this is the Wii forum )recoops and starts having price drops then thats when I thank they will be reeally dukin it out ! like in the later years . until then the Wii will take an earily lead

I am still holding out for the Wii... but they just lost a lot my faith after re-announcing that the systems won't be region-free. Now I am in a jam as to whether I should import the system from the US, or wait for the Japanese release. The system would be cheaper to buy in Japan, but the games are coming out in the US first, and will probably be cheaper than the games in Japan.
Optimal setup would be US games with a Japanese system.
Oh well, I will probably end up with US everything.

I believe the PS3 will be the overall winner again for the coming generation. My brothers and I have all three current gen consoles, but live in different places. The only console I kept with me was my ps2, and I love it still. The only thing I don't like about the ps2 is that my old one failed on me (v9 = bad lasers). With my v14 however, I am completely satisfied.
Come 7th Generation however, I can only see myself buying a Wii, but in the long run the PS3 will probably win. The main reason why is that it can produce so many of the ps2 favorites that made the console great. Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, and probably another God of War will be huge boosts for the console. God of War is my favorite ps2 game, and might be enough to temp me in the future (whenever the PS3 price drops)
I want Nintendo to win, but I am afraid to say the PS3 will win in the long run. I personally see no reason why Xbox 360 will win. Graphics aren't everything to me, its the gameplay that matters.
I vote PS3.

I think the PS3 will win but just slightly. At first Wii will be on top as it has an incredible launch line up and a great controler and it will have some games aimed at nongamers and it will be awesome for shooters, but after a couple years, when technology costs go down, PS3 gets cheaper, HD tvs become more mainstream and big name titles like MGS 4, DMC 4, GTA 4, Killzone, and def jam establish themselves, PS3 will pull ahead. I definitly think 360 will come last.

Wii will win. look at how nintendo is dominating the portable console market with their "inferior" graphics. It doesn't matter, and wii looks damn good anyway. in both areas, sony may have the graphical advantage, but it will come down to the games and the masses that buy them. I think nintendo will capture a new audience (the non-gamers) and thats why they'll win. sony is for the hard-core only now. Most of the titles people are drooling over for PS3 are nothing but sequals, nothing new and exciting to draw in the non-gamer segment. Wii has plenty of totally never-before seen game types, and they're easy for anyone to pick up and play. FPS's and third person action games can only be fun for so long, then you just get a barrage of clones like we have right now. sony's arrogance will be their undoing. And I'd buy a 360, but most of the games I want have been coming out for PC also, so there is no need yet. Wii...HANDS DOWN!

WOW, PS3 isn't even out yet and people have so much faith in it. That is until they get Read Disc Error. Looking back in history PS2 games couldn't compare to Xbox's graphics. Now with the 360 which has been out for over a year it will probably still beat PS3 in graphics. All this time Sony has been trying to get Bluray to work and haven't invested enough time or money into the graphics. Sony's only hope for PS3 is to put out 1 or 2 cloudy dark low graphical games which no other system has and to sucker in the sony fanboys. There is a reason they lost their hold on GTA4, San Andreas looks better on xbox. But obviously none of you who own PS2's even know because you don't have another system.
Nintendo has been going downhill ever since Gamecube. Their only chance of winning a few people is not with a couple mario games which will all turn out stupid anyways, but by having two different controllers. The system isn't even Next Gen Graphics, might as well call it a upgraded Gamecube. Good for the DS, but don't compare it's fame with the Wii because they are 2 totally different types of machines.
Xbox 360 Best, but you all won't know that until Mommy or Daddy gets you one.

What the hell is wrong wiht you have you seen the Clock speed difference between the ps3 and 360 its like 250mhz better then the 360 and it also supports one higher high deffinition level then the 360.You dont like nintendo do you,What do you mean the gamecube actualy went up from the N64,Another thing the graphics are next generation about 2x the power of the xbox which i say is next generation its like a Nvidia 6800GT 256mb pro By the way if The N64 didnt come out who knows you might still be playing Sega style 3D games not true 3D

The reason Xbox has such a graphical advantage is because it was released 2 years after the PS2, technology advances alot in to 2 years, by that logic the PS3 will be a load better graphic wise because its being released after the 360. You do realise the PS3 hardware is superior to the 360 in many ways, bluray has been fully working for ages now, it was the last piece of the PS3 to be complete. So saying that they spent to much time on Bluray and not graphics is complete BS.
They(Sony) "lost their hold on GTA4" because it costs alot to keep a game exclusive, and being as they are losing enough money selling the PS3 at its current price they cant afford to pay Rockstar millions of $$$ for it. Rockstar seeing how much money they can make from both consoles would lose to much to make it worth while.
Im reckoning PS3 for the win overall after 5 years, not straight away because of limited launch consoles and insane prices, the WII having 1m at launch will give them an early lead but hardware limitations will kill it quickly, and the 360 is just a pile of crap that Microsoft rushed which will finish in last.
Yes i agree with you dazila he really does sound like a nintendo hater, the WII will be a great system that i know will sell alot, just because your stuck with a 360 doesnt mean you have to get pissed at people who are smart enough to wait for a WII/PS3. True next gen systems.

I'm no expert, but I think Resistance looks really good. Also, Assassin's Creed is the same build on both systems, so I don't see how you can make a point that the ps3's graphics are a lot worse than the 360's. That doesn't even make sense. If anything, they are equal at this point.

From what I can tell, it pretty much is. I wish the system would have more powerful hardware as much as the next Ninty fanboy, if only so I wouldn't have to hear ps3 and 360 people gripe about the Wii's hardware specs. But you know what? Graphics do not make the console. They never have.
I'll give you two recent examples: Nintendo DS, and the Playstation 2.

That's a completely valid argument. And make no mistake, Nintendo is taking a huge risk with the Wii. However, their strategy is the same regarding the two systems, and until a couple years from now, no one will know whether their relative success can be compared or not.

you can buy allot of stuff with $600, what what you do?
as of now, sony is depending mainly on hard-core gamers, to buy the ps3.
what needs to be done:
sony starts making more ps3s
every one starts to get used to Blu-ray
sony announces a price cut.
not really sure how long it will take, but im guessing a year
or so. then ps3's sales will improve and then it will actually be able to fight in this "WAR".
Now on to the wii
wii is going to attract mario fanboys, cheap people, hackers, and just about every one on this planet. value is good, and it is not to complcatied or expensive.But when you think about it , wii might not win , in 5 years wii will not be able to keep up with the "times" DVD is going to be be equivlent to vhs,maybe i sould say that nintendo wins, by then nintendo would have a diffrent cosole out. that proably why sony is using blue-ray ,they want it to be alive for along time, not sure putting a $600 price tag on it is a good idea. but i still am kepping my vote for the wii(nintendo), not just because this is the wii section.
if i am wrong about the wii winning that crown, then ps3 will win,and as for the 360 , no comment.
