iPod 60GB video crashes. Help?

Hey all.

I've seem to have picked up a problem with my iPod. I can watch a video from the beginning fine and even pause and start it more than once. However when i go to fast forward the video it will either do one of two things.

1. Pause and then re-boot itself.

or

2. Fast forward normally but then not let me do it again, or rewind. It then pauses and crashes.

I've been using it all morning and trying different things on the videos and the battery doesn't seem to have been affected at all! I'm charging it up again to see if it's that but i don't think it is.

So has anybody come across this (possible) problem or what should i do?

It's an iPod video 60GB and i've not updated the firmware due to the problems people have had on each since. Was working fine earlier and then all of a sudden later on today it has the above problems.
