That's it then, with a Vcore that low it's understandable how his temps are so low. I'm dumbfounded he's got to 4.2Ghz on only 1.31V though, that's incredible - that's what it set in the BIOS or what he sees off everest/speedfan?

The 8.7dBA is bull - it's actually 20dB. Be advised that fan is for pure silence, and not for good airflow - if it's a replacement fan, it will have a negative impact on performance. The SFF21E is a low noise fan that gives average airflow, the SFF21F is a tolerable noise fan that produces well above average airflow.

I would go with this instead. the shipping should be less too if you choose supersaver shipping.

I forget, is this an upgrade or an extra? If it's an upgrade he would surely want the SFF21F...

Nice one, the maths sort of makes sense now; i've just put the BIOS back to 1:2 and rebooted so that's the last time i'll need to mooch in the BIOS.
Cincyrob - very good work on the OC fella, glad to see you've got past the troublesome PC blues.
Anyone - i see Mort's put a nice pic of his pc there, how about some of you help a few of us revive the "Where are you sat" thread, let's see some pics of the pc's y'all are always talking about ? :)

LOL!
110CFM at 16dB. Man, that'd be the day!
A 120mm fan that pushes 110CFM will be around 45dB.

Heh - their credit, click on the page and they explain:
Originally posted by svc: Allows up to 110CFM in high performance mode and a very low 16.5dBA in silent mode
Even so, that fan will be pushing 21dB in silent mode, not 16.5.

that is incedible and helps to explain the low temps. is it stable there? any screenshots of OCCT? my cpu isn't near that OC friendly. I had it at 1.35v but had to bump it to 1.36v for stability reasons. my temps are fine but I just don't want to up the vcore anymore.
I just about ordered a Q9450 from microcenter for $299.99 until I found out they charge sales tax. turns out I can get it from newegg for just a couple dollars more. I'm gonna hold of a bit yet. I'll probably pull the trigger when it gets down to $319 + free shipping.

For once a price that's about on par with ours. The Q9450s are typically £205+delivery. Add UK VAT to the egg's price for the chip and you get £195.

the only thing i seen that he showed me was a screen shot of everest. showing his temps at idle and load. and the vcore along with the rest of his volts ect... i dont know if its photoshoped or what. i can only go buy what he/some tells me is the truth. i figure if ya have to lie about something on the internet you got problems....lol
Mort
i got a buddy over at microcenter i can see if he can get me a discount on the Q9450....lol
