(seriously) though We can only hope they have some MIJ's mixed in with the Taiwan Sony's @ Officedepot ! Or atleast Wallyworld has some that we can pricematch ? I have'nt noticed too many 100ct. spindles of anybrand of media @ wallyworld lately Though ! We have a New superwallys coming maybe They'll carry them ? Anyhow you'se still Da' man Later !!!!!!!!!!

movies27- but if you can get the Taiyo yuden made Sony's for the same price why Not ! buying Taiyo yuden this way is usually cheaper than buying online ! unless you catch a sale with free shipping !But I realize Everyone has there own taste , Preferences & opinions & I respect that! CIAO! Y'all

@ BIGTOXY69.. im sorry i only meant that i see a lot of people searching for the made in japan sony's overlooking the made in tawian's and by no means do i not like Yuden's i just ordered a 100pack from Rima the other day they're playback is flawless.Also where im located that's all they ever have is the 16x DVD+R sony Made In Tawian.

Not dogging Sony or you , Just given a choice of That was the point I was trying to get across ! at the same pricepoint I mean ! Although I like most aftedawners prefer Taiyo's & Verbatims I will buy other media That are good though not as favored as the Ty or verbs, on occasion assuming the price & quality are there ! like Ritek- Maxell-Officedepot/Ricohjpn ... It seems the 25 and 50 packs of media are the way the companies are favoring. It has been said the smaller packs 25 and 50 are easier to ship and warehouse and there is less damaged discs in the smaller packs. I have noticed less problem discs in the 25 and 50 than the 100 spindles.

dilligaf9- most Non-technology specific stores - ie: walmarts , Drugstores, CVS , Rite-Aid , Walgreens ect... tend to favor Smaller Packs whether in jewel cases or spindlles ! so a 30 Ct. Or 50 Ct. Spindle is a big pack in their eyes anyway and that makes a 100ct. spindle downright enormous by their standards ! They also tend to ask high prices for minimum quantities of media ! As opposed to technology based stores - like BestBuy , Officedepot ,CircuitCity ect... and while there is vailidity in what you said about 100ct. spindles & shipping damage ! I've never had any problems with any spindles so far either 50's or 100's . Though any rough handling that could damage a 100pk. could just as easily damage a 50pk. too ! In any case that's one reason to give the recordable side of your media a good looking over before use ,to check for the aforementioned damage ! dilligaf9 Good Luck , Good media & happy Burning ! hello Jasper,
do you know if the verbatim lightscribe DVD+R going to be onsale anytime soon?? i bought some HP 15 packs from microcenter and then came out to be a cmc mag crap. i need to have the verb LS on sale quick so i can buy them like madman. i remenbered they were onsale ahile back when i didnt have LS drive. so it should be about time they go sale again right??
does anybody here recommend any other lightscribe media??

Yujenh- For what it's worth I've never found Mij's /Sony @ OfficeDepot ! MIT's Out the Wazoo ! Mij's no ! To be fair I 've only hit the 3 nearest to me within 30 miles or so - I live in the Sticks ! But I have Noticed that Officedpot Often has the MIJ Maxells particularly the printables ! I realise that you were asking about The MIJ sony's/Taiyo Yudens But if you can get the Maxells MIJ's for a good price I'd say Go for it ! The Mij Sony's are getting to be like those old RadioShack sales - Where is -As is ! well atleast the Where is part anyway ! You can sometimes find them at Walmarts . Which gives you the Pricematch option ! which is good but media brands and quantities may vary from store to store ! You might also try looking at stores that sell Blank media but don't sell a lot of it & you might find some Mij's that have'nt sold out yet ! Also a lot of the non technology based stores tend to have the smaller packs & or spindles so if you looking for the 50 or 100 ct. spindles you might mot find them there. thanks for your info. I appreciated very much. you are in better luck then me. I only have 1 Office Depot within 30 miles range. Also need to thank you for pointing out the MIJ Maxell. whats your opinion on the MIT sony's?? I think it should be Ritek oo3. It should be the same as the office depot brand that i have been using as give aways. For somereason its got mixed result for them.

well I must confess that all of the sony's I have right now are japanese Either with Sony Codes or Taiyo Yudens ! And being somewhat of a dvd media packrat ( Went through the same Phase With CDR's too!) I have'nt actaully gotten too my sony's yet ! Other members who've used the Taiwan made sony media seem to have good results ! I Think if I were limited to Taiwanese made disc My first choice would be Verbatim's Followed By the Sony's Ritek 's & RicohJpn disc Given that they are of similar quality in no particular order ! I've had good experience with Ritek/maxell/Officedepot (Riteks) & Ricohjpn media ! and I suspect that the Sonys would be good too ! Yup Yup ! the last time I was in a Kmart they had Mostly Mij sony's But this was several months ago so whether or not they still do is open to question ? It's the one On Bellle Chasse Hwy , In Gretna La. If inquiring minds want to know ? And no I do not work for Kmart or sony either ! just passing along the info is all !

you are in luck
microcenter have 10 pack verbatim for 15.99, but they do charge
shipping and tax. however the item arrive very well packed.
i think that should be the best deal you can get or close to the best deal. Compu usa have the memo sux for the same price.

I just picked up a pack of the Sony DVD+R's at Office Depot. I still have a pack of my nexxtech ones which according to the table are utter crap (AML-002). But so far, out of 13 burns, only 3 failed, which really surprises me. Whatever, we'll see what happens.
The Sony DVD+R's are nice though, first class media all the way (SOMY-D21).
thanks for the bad/good media help guys... it's sad to see how many people buy the cheap ones for like 9 bucks, to find out that out of a 100, 4 work.
So by how much are the famous Verbs better than these Sony ones, just curious.
