Hi chop2113
What version are you using? The latest is 7.5.7.0
Try uninstalling Nero (write down serial 1st)- run the clean tool to remove it completely. Reboot - run a registry cleaner like ccleaner. Use the cleaner and issues options.
Now reinstall Nero.
Give that a go and let us know!

Ok - using Nero 7.5.7.0?
Let's check the drive and the firmware version. Go to ToolKit>InfoTool. The made and model of the drive is in the drop down. The firmware version is listed in the drive tab.
Post that back.
Or post your last Nero log - maybe helpful.
Look here for them: program files>nero>nero 7>core>nerohistory.
Just be sure to edit out the serial number. Usually begin w/ 1A, 1C or 5C.
The logs are separated by something like this:
=======****Nero Burning Rom History****=======

I'm having the exact same issue as chop2113.
I updated my firmware the other day. I'm now using UDS2... and initially it worked.
Today it decided that DVD+R is unsupported.
I'm getting rather frustrated with this. Any suggestions?

Hi lostylost
What's the media you are using? Like Sony +R 16x.
It may not be supported even though you have the latest firmware.

I'm using TDK 16X DVD+R.
I know they work because I've already successfully burned about 20+ discs of this media. Ever since I 'upgraded' Nero beyond 6.6.0.3 it's been rejecting the +R's though -- except for that one I got to work yesterday after updating the firmware.

I might also add that I'm currently (as I'm typing this) burning a DVD using CDBurnerXPPro 3 to the afforementioned media.
Though I much prefer Nero to any other burning software I've come across.

Hey I did the whole thing and the same thing happened to me again so i un installed Nero and went for an older version i think it was 7.0.8 or something like that and now it works all the time. Not sure why the newest version does that. Just download the previous version to the newest one and you should be fine.

7.0.8 works you say? Can you verify that that's the version you have?
If it is, I'll go DL that one. I can't live without my Nero-y goodness.

I'm going to run the cleaning tools n' then try the latest 7.5.9.0 to see how that goes. If that fails, then I'm gonna try 7.0.5.4.
What baffles me is that the InfoTool reports that it can write DVD+R, but when I put one in, it says it can't use it. I have a copy of 6.6.0.3 if nothing else... though I really like Nero Vision 4, I'd rather not regress if I can help it. :\

the burn was successful, however I think I did the wrong DVD format (Joliet) and my DVD player didn't like it. I'm gonna try with ISO 9660 v1 and see if I have better results. Just for reference sake.

I've now burned 2 DVDs with CDBurnerXPPro 3 -- both report that they've completed successfully, and Windows will read both of the discs, however my DVD player is utterly rejecting them. It's accepted all the DVDs I've burned on the same media with Nero, so CDBXPP seems to be flawed somehow... *shrug* I dunno. I'm not too concerned with it, since I'd much prefer Nero anyway. Time to give 7.5.9.0 a whirl...

Ok, wiped out Nero 7.5.7.0 with the cleaning tool. Restarted. Installed 7.5.9.0. It's working. So far.
I'll post again if it goes back to hating the +Rs. Otherwise, assume that 7.5.9.0 fixes the issue.

okay... it broke again, but only after running DVD43 (3.9.0) and Nero Recode. I'm not sure which of the two is responsible for the issue... I'm inclined to say DVD43. I shutdown DVD43 and tried burning the files again, and it still refused the +Rs. I restarted the machine (no DVD43 running) and it burned with Nero (7.5.9.0) just fine.
I'll attempt to narrow down if it's DVD43 or Nero Recode that's causing the problem.
(Sorry if this running commentary is annoying anyone, but I want to have a log of the issue available on the forums for anyone else who may happen across this problem.)

CDBurnerXP (like most of the free burning apps) doesn't do DVD-Video. From their site:
---------------------
- Burning video-DVDs is limited.
Q: Why does the burned DVD not work in my DVD Player?
A: CDBurnerXP currently does not support burning with the UDF filesystem, which is needed for some DVD players to work. We also don't know when it will be supported, so please don't ask for that feature.
