I don't understand why people have to bash this system. It seems like all people give a crap about is the graphics. "Ohh noes! The graphics aren't as good as the PS3/360!" Somebody call the freaking Waaaaaaambulance. The Wii is an excellent system with one helluva launch. I'm glad Nintendo had the b@11z to take a chance with the controller, and try out another way of gaming. BTW, the "mii" is just plain cool as all hell.

I wouldn't say it was a "helluva" launch. One good game does not make a great launch. No doubt Zelda is the best game out for any of the consoles but everything else is weak. For all the hype red steel got, the game is garbage

Tomorrow (black friday) stores will have both wii and ps3 units for sale.
I think Nintendo plans to refresh stores every week until the end of the year, but I'm not certain.

All I can say is that wii graphics are like gamecube 1.5 and the only reason anyone would think of buying one is because how cheap it is. You want top quality you have to pay top dollar. Another thing would be the problems wii has had after update they're bricked or how about all the dumbasses who don't know the meaning of the wrist band or how to use it have broken tv or wii remote because of that. Nintedo is in a world of trouble by lawsuit or stupid people who don't know how to read instructions and even thought I want a wii for my son(5 yrs old) has no interest in it, he would rather prefer the 360 because he already owns a ps3. As of right know nintendo is crap in my opinion with lame graphics and a unstable system.

Okay what people got to look at is that nintendo target Kids from 7-16 not older gamers...This is the path they took & i think they do a very good job at setting there sites on one thing & going after it.To say the Wii is a bad system is in the Eye of the beholder but you got to keep in mind Nintendo not trying to over throw Sony(cant say MS because they never sold anything more than Nintendo) they just want to be consistane in the gaming market.To compare Wii to PS3 or 360 really unfair.Far as game titles Zelda is good but i also like Excite truck.Lets not forget that Nintendo was at the top of the mountain so they know what it takes to be good.

i agree good system
PS3 brilliant ive got a 20gb jap here in the uk to high customs tho £92.90 and the step down was 45 quid oh well its awsome

Well, I have a feeling this thread might get shut down, because it seems redundant and hostile. But while it's open I'll throw in my 'friendly' two cents.
Wii did have Zelda, it's a good game. But to say it's the only good title on the system reflects nothing more than complete ignorance on the subject one is bantering. It's pathetic logic. "I've never really looked into the games, and I only know the one that has been talked about for three years now; therefore my small mind assumes that it must be the only one." That's really what the argument should have said.
As for actual launch titles on the system, yes, there's Zelda. HOWEVER there are others already available. Trauma Center is absolutely top notch gameplay, and it's something the PS3 couldn't do even if Atlus themselves(The producers) tried. Wii sports is also very fun, many users have put hours into it easily, especially with the multiplayer. Raving Rabbids is a great multi-platform title that clearly has it's strongest debut on the Wii with all of it's Wiimote usage. Honestly, the developers have stated it was the system in mind at time of development. Marvel ultimate alliance is a fun play-through especially if a friend will do it with you. The gestures etc used in common gameplay make it very fun to play. Madden '07 for the Wii is getting raving reviews, and has been hailed by numerous publications as THE BEST version of the title to play. Not because it's graphics are great; but because the wiimote play and control draws on you in ways that the other systems just can't. Monkey Ball has always been a blast to play, and now actually having tilt control adds the perfect dimension to it's formula, making it feel completely inclusive.
As you can see, these are great Wii titles; and all the ones I mentioned are already available. None of those are 'to-be-released'.
As for the PS3 fanboys; you've got 'Lair' a graphical powerhouse with gameplay mechanics that proudly show rushed development. Motorstorm, a beatiful motocross/bike/atv/off road simulator/racer, with good gameplay for fans of the genre. Resistance: Fall of Man, Insomniac's new title showing little creativity, 'nothing new' gameplay, and cliche character/level/weapon design; in it's defense it's alright to play online, but hardly justification for such an expensive system. Madden '07 looking slightly prettier than the 360 version, with a tad of sixaxis use. Untold Legends, another follow-up to a title that got old a couple hours after launch release on the Playstation Portable; now with beautiful high detail graphics, online gameplay, (the promise of) online downloads, and the same boring gameplay that made people put it down shortly after picking it up almost two years ago. A new Genji was released, which begs the question 'After trying the PS2 one, why would anybody ever want more? It wasn't that good to begin with.'
What a lineup. Honestly, even long-time industry enthusiasts and PS2 fans 'Penny-Arcade' spent an entire blog lambasting Sony for it's weak-sauce release and poor launch lineup, consisting of two so-so games: Resistance, and Lair. PS3 may be pretty, but as titles like Gears of War will show, the PS3 is not a bar-none graphics powerhouse. Besides, I'll take the better, more natural feeling gameplay of the Wii any day.
Now, you can get into future titles all you want, but frankly, it's just sad. If the fanboys haven't heard, it recently came out that Hideo Kojima has been working on a side by side 360 version of MGS4; which finally explains his numerous comments about preferring the 360's programming over the PS3's. FFXIII, while looking pretty, just doesn't look fun anymore. And I was never really a fan of Killzone, so the 'allure' of the next gen title is nonexistent to me. Truthfully, I'm happy having a Wii and a 360; and that doesn't make me a fanboy; I was (and still am plenty pleased with) my PS2; but Sony has brought garbage to the table this time around, and until things drastically improve, I'm not buying.

its an awesome console... when I checked out the specs. of Wii its not even a competition against PS3 and X360... I know for a fact that Big N is not really competing against those big guys (PS3 and X360)...and I also told myself that i will never get this system... but when my Fiancee bought a Wii and I was able to try Wii sport and Rayman Raving Rabbids... to tell u the truth I liked it because of top notch game play main part was I had "FUN"... The graphics is not the best but when your swinging your wii remote you wouldn't even notice
If you guy want a system where you just sit and relax don't buy Wii.
Systems I own Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, XBOX, PSP, GBA, NDS, PSP and GAMECUBE...

Are you serious your compareing a first gen game to a system that been on the market for a solid year.If you read some of the posts in here which i dont think you did everyone but one person agree that the Wii a good system.But please dont you compare it to the PS3 its not really fair & no need to compare the two.

lol. I'm not comparing the Wii and the PS3; if that's what you're saying. Believe me, I was one of the first to say that the Wii is on a completely different realm of gaming.
What I was saying is that a lot of the PS3 fanboys talking about how weak the lineup is on the Wii need to seriously re-examine their thinking; because the Wii launch lineup looms over the PS3. What I was stating is that in the one major advantage area the PS3 keeps claiming, graphics, they aren't superior after all. And it may not be a fair comparison, but quite frankly it's more than deserved after Sony's brave statement of:

DOnt have to lie to urselves cuz the only launch tittles worth $52 for the wii is just Zelda. I wouldnt waste my money on any other game.
As of this point the only thing the wii mote is good for is wii sports its addicting as hell. Iv played Zelda and Call of duty and Excite truck and the wii mote isnt cutting it for me controll wise...altho Zelda isnt bad i dont really mind.
The nunchuck rarely works the way you want it to....but i dont expect launch tittles to be perfect.

I agree with the above poster. Zelda is great, everything else stinks bigtime if you are an adult game player. I would pay 250 just to play Zelda, nothing else is worth it. I am hardcore sports game player as well and madden on the Wii is junk. No respectable sports game player would choose that over the 360 or ps3 versions of Madden.

right i keep hearing "graphics suck graphics suck" its starting to piss me off. Dont like the graphics? go get a ps3 or 360 or something else that will satisfy your graphical needs.
innovation people! this system can be played by anyone and its more than fun you actually interact almost physically. I have no idea why people would hate this system.

yeah i cant find any problems with the wii mote or nunchuks, all i can say is that it takes time or your hand eye coordination isnt as good as you hoped;).

its not that i have bad hand eye coordination... the wii mote isnt realistic enough at this point to be called innovative....thats cuz its at launch but im sure it will improve sooner or later.
You can just barely flick the wiimote slightly and it would swing when u play tennis or golf....yes fun for kids who dont care but im sure ppl who actually play tennis or golf will be like wtf?
Graphics on the wii isnt that bad its like a couple steps up from gamecube and Ps2...but ofcourse its no PS3 or 360.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

I think we are judgeing these consoles (PS3 & Wii)to early people, they only been out a week...lol Give them sometime if you go back and look most new system launch titles are weak.These companys are still not filmiar with these systems.The only system you can judge now is the 360 and im not impress with them one bit.3 games that i would want to play on this system after a year of release it.

nah i think if the games for tennis and golf had to be played the real way with the wiimotes then it wounldnt be as fun. normally kids would be hitting the ball into the net 90% of the time and golf is just as bad. I think its meant this way for everyone to be able to play u know "play like a pro"
EDIT: but i see what ur saying, real tennis players or golf players would go "wtf", then again if they're not satisfied they can go play on the court outside.

I think all consoles have haters they come a dime a dosen , people hate on the Ps3 , the Wii , and the 360 . someone will always find some stupid a** excuse to not buy another console and I seen the dummest ones ever!. I mean its time to fess up, all three are clever in each of there own way. I think we should really own all of them or buy which ever one is best for your needs and not hate on the other ones since they all are innovative .

i heard of all the games that handsom was talking about and they are definitely good games, Trauma centre is absolutely orgasmic and playing it makes u sweat and on the edge of ur seat. The Wii is on the verge of total virtual reality, doesn't anyone want to feel like they are in the game?
