--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've recently downloaded a few movies, all of which are in cue/bin format. I've tried burning them using Nero, Blindwrite and Fireburner. However after burning them, none of them work on either my DVD player or on my PC. I've tried editing the cue file to point to the directory of the bin file, but still no luck.

The thing is, if I extract the mpeg from the bin file using TSCV and then try to burn the mpeg using Nero, it works fine.

Any ideas?

Wrong forum d00d. I moved this one already, but be more careful in future.

The CDs should contain tons of dirs after burning, right? There should be one or two huge files with extension .DAT in MPEGAV directory (or SEGMENT dir) -- those are the video files and they should work OK, it's just that your Media Player doesn't recognize the extension. Try to simply select "All files" when using WMP and select the .dat anyhow and it should work. And also, try to see if the files work with PowerDVD XP 4.0 -- they might be SVCD format which is not supported natively by Windows.

And if they don't play on your DVD player, it might be that your player doesn't support VCD -- or they can be SVCDs and your player doesn't support SVCD. Or it might be simply matter of CD media -- some players are extremely picky with the CD brand you're using.

They are SVCD format and I have WinDVD 4 installed on my System. However WinDVD won't play the video's. Neither will my DVD Player, which supports playback of both VCD and SVCD, and playback of any regional format.

As I said b4 though, if I rip the video from the bin using TSCV or VCDGear and then burn the resulting mpeg with Nero's SVCD Template, the resulting SVCD works with both my DVD Player and through WinDVD.

The problem only occurs when burning the cue/bin file.

Kinda weird, maybe the MPEG stream is slightly f**cked up inside the bin/cue and when you convert it back to pure MPEG-2 stream with VCDGear, it simply skips the broken part (maybe one frame or something) and the resulting file works ok. Hard to say.
