Those code out as Verbatin. #2 on the GREAT MEDIA list. Are those the ones for 12.00 or 14.00 bucks at Mico Center? They are not junk.

How are you burning? I only use MCC-004 for movies and PS2 games. Movies I burn at 8x, and PS2 at 4x, both booktyped to DVD-Rom and the results are great.

i burned a ps2 game today (fight night round 3) on both my Taiyo Yudens and these Windatas.
The Taiyo disc worked flawlessly
The Windatas froze on the start up load screen

I'd suggest you slow your burning to 4-8x and make sure you don't multiask during the burn.
Have you tried burning a DVD movie to see if it's really the disks, not that they just don't work in your PS2.

i had these ones before i bought my Taiyo Yudens so i burned about 8 ps2 games on them. 2 games didn't boot at all, 3 games work just fine, and 3 worked but has problems (long loading, sound, skipping, etc.)
i've never tried a DVD movie though. What should i be expecting if this is a good (or bad) quality disc?

A perfect playback.
If not then you'll get skipping in audio/video.

i rarely decipher logfiles from either Alcohol 120% or DVD Decrypter but it's possible there's something in your burning setup that needs tweaking slightly. i myself have issues with MCC004 discs, my issue is that they don't like burning at 8x on my systems, but they burn fine at 4x.

hmmm....could just be your burner...some burners just like specific media over another. I say if TY are working for you, stick with them...they are after all probably the absolute best you could buy (at least that is the opinion of numerous people here, I gotta get my hands on a spindle and give them a shot)

I can't think at the moment as to your disks and being fake or whatever. It's like 10am and I've just got up :P
Anyhow, have you tried burning with IMGBurn?

Eco...I picked these up last night. They are the Windata DVD+ and DVD- formats. They code out as mcc 004 and mcc03rg20, made by Verbatim. BUT the package states MADE IN HONG KONG by UmeDisc Limited , City of Industy , California. My understanding is Genuine Verbatims are Made in Taiwan so the package would state MIT on it. Also checking this Ume Disc Company yields info on their manufacture of fake discs . Info here at bottom of page.
http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
Question 1.. Does Verbatim manufacture dvds outside of Taiwan?
2.. Does Verbatim make any House Brand dvds for anyone?
3.. Why are the inner halographic numbers different and or lacking on the Windata disc as compared to a genuine Verbatim disc?
4.. Why are there no similarities at the center hub when comparing both companies dvds. They look totaly different..
I dont think its your burner I think its the DVDs.. JMO
