When I ripped a segment of a dvd and converted it with xilisoft the quality came out bad when it was in mp4 format and when I tried to update my ipod it said that the ipod could'nt recognize the format it was in. Is there a any good converters out there for making my dvd files into ipod 80 gb format?

If you have Nero, then use Nero Recode to convert into MP4 and import into your IPOD. I've done a few times in the past and the quality is awesome.

How do I convert it to mp4 in the recoder? I already did the import and then tried to import it into my video library on itunes but the video dosent import. I get no error messages or anything. Is it just not converted to mp4 is the resion why it is not being put in the library? By the way I am using the nero7 demo.

I forgot to mention that I have the full version of 5. Is there a way to convert dvds to mp4 with that version?
