Don't forget to play the "Price Match Plus" game! Staples price for the 25 pack of Sony's is $8.98. Circuit City will have these at $19.99. That's $11.01 difference. Price Match Plus is match plus 10% of the difference,
which here is $1.10 more off the $8.98 which = $7.88 for the Sony's at Circuit City.

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

Thanks bunnyrip, I only buy the remanufactured carts they sell but they are for HP, they prob would generously give me 3bucks for one. And then refill it and sell it back to me again for 59 dollars plus tax lol
I should be in the cartridge refilling business myself!!

Stores usually don't price match unless that competitive store is in that same town.

Has anyone used the Sony DL discs? They are cheaper on a per disc price than the Verbatim, but not sure about the quality. Difference is only about $0.10, I know you can't go wrong with the Verbatims.

smash22- I seem to recall that this ? was posted before or a similar one and the answer/answers were that if the SONY DL's were made in singapore then they were OEM'ed By verbatim for Sony , If the label says they were Made in Taiwan then I think they said They were made by Ritek ! Wish I could be more specific - Or sure - Let me check some more to get the facts or atleast the educated guesses LOL!

sony makes DL?????? who makes them anyone know?

Sony DL media is made by two companies, Ricoh/Ritek (Made in Taiwan) and Mitsubishi/Verbatim (Made in Singapore). Most of the DL Sony's at Best Buy in the United States are MIT. I have yet to find a report of anyone in the U.S. or North America finding MIS Sony DL disks, but you may get lucky, so check the shelves anyway.- This was the post I mentioned earlier !- With thanks to Negritude for it's use ! For the 10 cents difference I'd Go Verbatim on the DVD+R DL-1st and still best ! but the choice is yours ! good luck !!!!!!!

narcismo- If you really want the sony's & you have a BestBuy nearby or atleast close enough not to be a hardship to drive to ! They Should pricematch the Compusa sale ( Bring the add with you ) Or assuming you have a Walmart close & they have the same Product they will give you the add price ! It does have to be the same Item - Example the Sony 100ct. spindles @ Compusa are 16x in either format DVD+R or DVD-R so if you found 100ct. spindles of sony @ BestBuy or Walmarts they would have to 16x as well ! Sounds simple enough but if one of them has the 100ct. spindles but the speed is 8x instead of 16x even though they were the same brand they won't match the price because it's not the same exact product ! I would try Bestbuy if possible as my local one has sony's most of the time ! Not always on sale but pricematching will take care of that ! Compusa & I have a Hate ,hate relationship - I hate, hate them & they don't care ! let's say they screwed me over and I never forgave them period ! Since that happened it's bestbuy, newegg, Buy.com or other retailers but no Compusa for me ! But I've had decent dealings with the others so Hopefully if you choose that direction you willas well ? Good Luck and Happy Shopping narcismo! Peace !!!!!

narcismo- Can verify that Bestbuy will Pricematch on the Sony's Bought two spindles with my Xmas Gift Card ! Just show'em the add ! They were The Taiwanese (MIT) not Mij Ones but I think they'll do just fine DVD+R's so I can Booktype them ! Just thought you'd wanna know that if You still want the sony's ! would have preffered the MIJ ( Taiyo Made Sony's But I have taiyo's ahead in varying amounts & some verbatims & other brands about the computer room as well so I think I did okay anyways ! Good luck regardless of who's brand of media you end up buying !happy Burning & happy Trails

bigtoxy,
i hear what ur saying about price matching(and the various speeds matter as far as that goes).if you have beef with comp usa, i understand that too....hey! go ahead and stick it to the man one disc at a time:-) all i'm sayin is $18.99+$7.00(no tax either) shipping is a freakin steal! for a spindle of 100 verbs!
at that price i feel like i won a prize! warm and snuggly! like i can sleep at night with my windows open because i know that verbatims got my back! lol
anyway...verbs are the only MIT dvds worth buying,(don't think for a second that SONY actually makes their own dvd's)the rest are just cheap media made by 7yr olds in a sweat shop(kids just don't take any pride in their work lol!)ok that was'nt funny...my bad:-(
any whoooo....here it is.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817507003

sorry 4 the long post
