Wow! Verbs back on sale. I picked up 200 (4 spindles) a few weeks ago when they were on sale at Best Buy. Might just pick up some more.
However, I have experienced some variations in the MCCO4s. I had been using some that had PAPA on the inner hub and they burned great. 3 of the last 4 spindles I picked up a few weeks ago had PAP6 on the inner hub and they burn fine but not quite as good as the PAPA one. The PAP6 seems to have higher PIF and PIE errros. The last spindle I got had nothing but serial numbers on it which I found out were made by Prodisc. It fared better than the PAP6 ones.
Has anyone else noticed the MCC04 variations in the +R media?
Also are the -R impacted by the variations also. I generally don't burn -R media because of booktyping issues. However I wonder how well the Verb -R )MCC03, I presume, burn in a BENQ burner?????
If the -R burn just as good as the +R, I might pick up a spindle of those....
Edited to say. Great job Jasper on the early announcement of media sales. You're still the man!!

Check on the outer spindle label for the country they were made in. All spindles of Playo's that my local staple's has is Made in China-so I'll avoid them like the plague!

All the Playo that I have seen are from China as well, I have never tried them, wonder if they have copied the manufacturor's code from Verbatim?
@LABOY,
all my Verb +R are the PAPA series, and they have burned great. I usually use the -R variety and they have worked wonderfully for me. I don't use as many +R as my favorite DVD player doesn't like the 16X +R media, even when I booktype them to DVD-ROM setting.

Thanks, if I make it around to OfficeMax next week I might pick up the 25 spindle of -R verbs just to give them a try. Generally +R media works better than -R in my Benq, but the PAP6 Verbs just aren't up to par with the PAPA verbs...

Yes, this has been reported by others, so you're not the only one. Do a google search for "PAP6" and look for a thread on CDFreaks about them.

OfficeMax has Verb DL at a regular price of $15 for a 10-pack. That's the best deal you're going to get for awhile. Verbs are rarely cheaper than that, even when on sale elsewhere. The 20-packs usually go for $30 when on sale, so that's the same price.
You're not going to find Verbs going for $1 per disk without a rebate and via mailorder. The retail stores NEVER sell Verb DL that cheap.

I intend to find out, when they open in an hour. I had bought some of those a couple of years back and they were Ritek discs, not too shabby.
EDIT; Went to BB and the Dynex +R X16 are made in CHINA. I passed.

I just got some verbatim dl @ office max 10 for 15. I've been online for weeks looking for them and 1.64 per disk is cheapest I found. But then you add S+h to that and there you go. Problem with the om where I live is they are always out of everything. I wonder if OM has online store.

You're joking, right? Just go to OfficeMax.com. You don't need a local store.

when they add $7.95 for shipping plus they add sales tax you lose any savings.

Actually, I just placed an order at OM, and for orders over $50, they dont charge shipping. And fortunately 4 50pk spindles come out to just over $51, so its still a pretty decent deal.

Went to OM and surprise surprise they actually had them in stock. Also memorex DL 15 for 19.99. Although all the verbatim, and everything else for that matter was made in taiwan or singapore. Arn't verbs suppose to be made in japan? Sleeves are kind of high. Any idea where to get those?

Nope, Verbatims are mainly made in Taiwan, they are the exception. And yes, some are made in Singapore.

I decided to pass of the Dynex as well. The day before my post I had bought 3 x 25pack Philips DVD-Rs for 5.99 each (Circuit City), so I'm happy, it's just hard to pass on some of these deals.
meh.
