Hello,
I read a lot of thread here and it seem pretty easy but reality overpass me !!!
I have a japanese wii that i bought and got chipped in china (yes i live in china) i bought 6 games here (of course backup dvds because it's impossible to buy something original here even with the best willing). they work fine!!!
I got a iso file for a wii game that i burned (with nero6 on a LG DVD-R) everything went smoothly.
When i load the dvd the wii recognize the game, i click on the small game icon, i go to the big image (i have the game music) but when i click on play, i go to a black screen ... and nothing happens ...???
What did i do wrong ???

You either have...
a. a bad ISO
b. a bad disk
I had the same type of problem with my first few burns It would allow me to start the game and sometimes even get to the starting menu in the game and then error me.
I switched to burning on Verbatim DVD+R and they work fine. Pretty much stick to Verbatim DVD+R or DVD-R

Thanks for the tip.
How can i know if my iso is bad without burning 100.000 dvd ???
Is it a way to open it and check the content?

well guys I had the same problem. And guess what? I fixed it..
The problem is you are burning at a to high of a speed. Burn only at 2x. It takes a little longer but work better.
Good Luck

Nothing to do with speed, i burn at 2.4 and always have a good burn on PAL games as im a PAL user. Now on NTSC games when patched some work and some dont, im sure its down to the double protection they have in place. Once patched the wii disk screen see's it and when u click start the other region protection kicks in halting ur system. If im wrong please tell me as i always burn on the slowest speed and use top disks.
If you a PAL user try Marvel Allaince or truma centre NTSC versions.
you will get the above.... im sure

hey peopel
i just got the wiikey chip and i tried burnig a jap game to a DVD+RW. its an iso file, everytime i try to burn it using NERO6 it says
"
The file "Bleach Wii.iso" is larger than 2GB and therefore cannot be stored in an ISO file system. Please use the UDF file system to write such larger files. this can be done by selecting another compilation type. "
I've read the form and it says if the file is 4,699,979,776 bytes which it is, so to my knowledge the iso isn't bad. Does anyone know what iam doing wrong , and how i can fix this problem?

Speed doesn't matter as long as you're using good media. I burn at a full 16X and all my burns work just fine on my wiikey

I'd suggest not using a DVD+RW --> use Verbatim or Tayo Yuden dvd-r; try using ImgBurn or DVD Decrypter

@viciousd
If you are using Nero6 you need to burn the image like this.
1. Launch Nero.
2. Choose Recorder / Burn image
3. Browse to the location of the ISO file and select the ISO file you want to burn to cd/dvd
4. Check the option "Finalize CD (No further writing possible!)
5. Click on "Burn" now.
Step 2 is what I think you are not doing... Also You "MUST" finalize the DVD!! and also slow speed is a must when using Nero, The slower the better I have found. Hope that helps. As it sounds like you were "Dragging and Dropping your .ISO then burning.

just download imgburn it has a much simpler layout and all you need to do is search for the iso with the program then simply click burn and burn at half the max speed of the DVD-R. and and with the black screen thing, what game are you trying to play? if its naruto wii its really like that you cant play it yet. youll have the audio and the title screen picture but youll get a black screen and the wii will just freeze after clicking on start game

I've been having a similar problem and I don't know what to do. I Have an NTSC ISO which seems to be the right size. I also have an NTSC Wii with a Wiinja (I think) chip. I've used several backup copies that were given to me (I didn't burn them), which work OK (BTW, most are recorded on cheap no-brand media).
However, I've tried to burn this ISO (my first attempt at burning a Wii iso), using Nero and doing it at 2X and when I put the disc on the Wii it says that the disc couldn't be read.
ANy suggestions?
Thanks!

yeah i also suggest using ImgBurn as it has a much simpler interface. I also suggest you to use Verbatim or Tayo Yuden DVD-R as to dvd-rs are the most compatible. and also it is recommended to burn it at half the max speed of the disc.

Half or no more than half? The disc I burned at 2X had a max speed rating of 8X

Well, I have to say that it works but it isn't perfect. When I insert the disc the games starts but before the initial screen I get a message saying "the disc culd not be read". If I reset the consol and restart the game (without taking out the disc), the game starts and plays perfectly.
