I've been trying to get Instant Copy to work for me, but getting the following error message about 10 - 20 seconds into the burn:

Access violation at address 356BOFA2 in module 'qdvd.dll'. Write of address 16330000

The 'write of address' is often different. I'm using dvddecrypter to rip all of the files under file mode, and have tried ripping to dvd-r and HDD both, with the same results. I already have the most recent updates to both Instant Copy and Decrypter.

Help?

Corydj, I have the Pinnacle Instant Copy CD+DVD. I have been lucky and it has worked without me having to update it yet. Have thought about it.

HopCake, I pretty much do exactly as you have said. I rip everything with DVD Decryptor, ALL FILES. Then I use Instand copy to copy the disc. I double click the source HardDrive to select the directory. Make sure my settings are for customize. And have lately set it to record everything not just english. Directly to my DVD Recorder. Things I can think of would be make sure you have enough HD space for the temp area instant copy uses.

Pinnacle has a pretty good web site for peer-to-peer help. They also have several "Pinnacle instant________" products. Their forum (they call it a webboard) is at http://webboard.pinnaclesys.com/read_forums.asp?WebboardID=1&SectionID=170&lng=1. If you click on the FAQ button in the upper-right corner it will present a list of their "Pinnacle Instant..." products._

Just to ad to an old post ? Pinnacle instant copy is finally a dead horse! DVD2One version 1.4 now backs up DVD movies with all the menus and movies, even multi episode DVDs from a DVD-9 to a DVD-5 in less than 18 minutes! SO LONG PINNACLE! I?d like to say it?s been fun but I can?t and I wish to heck I never purchased the Version 8 upgrade, what a waste of money, big time!

Oner

I use DVD Decrypter Version 3.1.9.0 to rip a movie to a folder on my hard drive, then I use Pinnacle Instant Copy 8 (main movie only feature) to burn the movie to a DVD-R. I have copied over 50 of my DVD's using that method and haven't created a coaster yet.

How can a program that produces such high quality backups be dead? Sure IC takes two to three hours to back up but later when you kick back and spend two+ hours watching the movie you enjoy the better/clearer video. And each time after that. I love the faster transcoders sure, but there's a time and place for IC.
