Ok I have read tons of forums on how to back up your PSP games. but there not all the same. I am looking for some consistence. I just got done upgrading my PSP to a 3.03 then downgrading it to 1.5 (and I did not brick my PSP, yeah). I have a good idea what needs to happen next. I need to load DH! I'm pretty sure its DH v0.46. well that?s where I stand for now on my psp. So once I put DH on my PSP can I load ISO's on my PSP or am I missing something? Also I need a real good TUT on how to load ISO and play them. Also once I have DH, I can play any of my "backed up games" I want?
Please help. I can find all of these answers on this site but what I am really looking for is consistence like I said before. I don?t want to brick my PSP now, I made it so far.
Thanx everyone I know you all will be a great help.

all your hard work is nearly done, you have 1.5 so you should just upgrade to 3.40oe-a or something, and every thing is really straight forward and easy, for your iso/cso games you just put them in your iso folder in the root of your memory stick, and your done.
1.5 > 2.71 > 2.81 > 3.03 >GTA LCS< 1.5 > 3.40oe-a
1 semibrick recovered back to 1.5 > 3.40oe-a
white TA-082 fully bricked using wrong downgrade another white TA-082 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.40oe-a then to 3.52m33 > 1.5 > 3.80 ofw > pandora battery & magic memory stick to get 1.5 then 3.52m33 > 3.71m33 > 3.80m33, psp's still alive!!!

First of all, devhook is a dinosaur of a program and is complicated to use..Which is why nobody uses it anymore..And whoever told you that you need to install devhook is smoking crack..either that or you are reading old archived threads...Your best bet is to now upgrade your 1.50 to a custom firmware such as 3.40OE-A
The installer can be found HERE
When you are done upgrading...format your memory stick via the psp menu, an ISO folder will be created for you..Place your "backup" pirated games into the ISO folder select the game from the menu, and enjoy...**Make sure you have an actual UMD game inserted in the drive to make life easier**

thank you very much for the help.
ok if i want to downgrade my other psp from a 3.01 to a 1.5. but here is the catch it is a TA-82. does the TA-82 have a high bricking rate? or should i not try it? cause i always thought that it was a dumb idea to try to downgrade a TA-82.
now as far as my other psp goes. i need to upgrade to the custom firmware, so i got that. but what do you mean when you say format my memory stick? also the root of the memory stick is where there are a list of folders like the GAME folder? sorry its such a stupid question :( i really want to be able to play my "backed up" games on my TA-82 but i dont want to brick it.
and how would i backup my psp? is that just coping all the files from the psp to my computer?
pretty much i am working on one psp and soon i am hopeing to be working on my TA-82.
thank you for the help. i really sound like a ture newbie now!!! and i can take that, cause its ture.

No problem, thats what we are here for...
After you are done upgrading to custom firmware, its best to format your memory stick-this is because there are files left on your memory stick from the upgrading process and you want to erase them as you dont need them anymore..Also formatting creates the folder directory you need so you can start putting your backup games on there.
As far as updating your 3.01 TA-082-you have a couple of options...You can either upgrade using an unpatched copy of GTA:Liberty City Stories (with the 2.00 fw update)-or update your firmware to official sony 3.50, and use the Lumines game to downgrade...The guides and required files can be found HERE..-And just so you know, both of these games are pretty tough to come by..But you need one or the other to downgrade..You will just have to look around for them.

Formatting your memory stick deletes all the files previously on it and creates all the folders that the psp normally uses. The option to format your memory stick is the Settings -> System settings -> Format Memory Stick option.
The "root" of your memory stick is basically the main folder (The drive letter), it contains the ISO, MUSIC, PICTURE, VIDEO, PSP, MP_ROOT, and seplugins folders (Not all psp's have all these folders, equally some may have more)
Finally, there are two forms of backing up your psp, one is simply saving all the data from your memory stick to your computer. The other is backing up your "flash" memory, this is what stores the firmware of the psp, but this is only accessible from custom firmware.
PSP, all the way from 1.00 to 5.50 GEN D2 - DS Lite w/ M3DS Real (M3 Sakura v1.34)
PS3 3.01 - iPod Touch 2G 16GB Jailbroken - Xbox 360 60GB - PC, Q6600, 3GB DDR2, GTX260 (216) 896MB

depending on the CF upto 3.52 is being done. you just still get the benefits of having 1.5 (homebrew and what not) - ps. devhook is kinda outdated now.
i stick w/ DAX's last release 3.40OEA, but u could use 3.52M33 or whatever the newest one is.

You have it right..Just use the guide that I linked to in my last post..You want to update your 3.01 to 3.03, and use the downgrader with your copy of GTA:LCS...It is basically the same process as when you downgraded your other one...The downgrader has a patch for your motherboard, so its safe.

Ok, thank you!! :)
Just wondering what model psp (MoBo's) do people not want to try and downgrade?
I think I am going to give it a shot Friday.
Another Question what kind of stuff do you do with homebrew?

ok I was looking at some of your convo's here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/542157
and well by playing ISO's that would mean that I have to have UMD in the psp (know that). But in the link above they were talking about turning on your psp and holding R and then turn the psp on and then when the psp will come up to a recovery menu then you select an option of playing games without the UMD. Does that work? And playing ISO with a UMD in the drive, does that mess up the UMD's?
And if you can bring up the recovery menu like that then does that mean you can recover all of the way to 1.5? (I think that was a dumb question!)
And I can downgrade my TA-82 FW 3.01 the same way I downgrade the other psp using GTA? But keep in mind the other psp is not a TA-82 like I said before. (that?s the last time I would ask that question)

look just use trial and error at this sort of stuff, its not that hard to pick up on,90% of what iv learnt has been through trial and error,if things arnt working for you, then your psp is stuffed or you haven't done your homework on the whole thing

Good questions there...Yes you can go into recovery mode by holding the R trigger button and disabling the "no UMD" option in the configuration menu..Its actually better to keep a UMD game inserted in the drive, and having the "no UMD" disabled-because some games will give you problems if you try to not have a game inserted...SO its best to just keep it in there..Unless you are using cfw 3.52M33 which has a hacked sony iso loader and does not require you to have a UMD inserted..The first option is if you choose to run cfw 3.40OE-A
Yes, there is an option to recover your PSP back to fw 1.50 should you run into trouble and need to re-flash your firmware..
And yes (again) you can downgrade using the 3.03 downgrader-there is a patch for TA-082 motherboards built into the downgrader-and its the same process as you did before with your other PSP-except there will be an extra step in the dowgrading process that patches your motherboard so you can continue..It will happen so fast, you probably wont even notice it...I have used that 3.03 downgrader myself on my other psp which has a TA-082 motherboard-and that is why I recommended it to you...

So I want to download 3.40 from this site ^^^
Then save it to my desktop then connect my psp via USB.
Then run the 3.40 and that?s it, everything happens on its own??
