I have a mpeg file that I have burned onto a cd-r using Veritas Record Now 4.6 --- the disc will not play on my dvd player, but does play on my Mom's dvd player. My dvd player is a Broksonic DVD/VCR combo and DOES play audio cds, audio cd-rs, and it does play backed up DVDs. Are there any special settings I need to set on Record Now to make this work on my dvd player? I know that some dvd players will not work for this, but since mine plays burned cds (audio) and burned dvd movies, I figured it would play a VCD too. When burning the file, I just chose the VCD option, added the file, and then hit burn. Thanks for any help.

Your DVD Player has to Specificly Support VCD"s, Just because it will Play Burned audio CD"s and Burned DVD"s doesn"t mean it will Play VCD"s and since you tried it and it didn"t work now you Know that it will not play VCD"s....Cheers

Usually when you insert the VCD if your plaper supports it a VCD icon will light up. Mine didn't but when I burned the same file with a cd/rw media volla it worked just fine. I read in a forum that rw media is better and some DVD players like it better than cd-r and will play only cd/rw try it can't hurt.
