Is there a way to use these patches to get this to work with HD Advance? I'm trying to backup my copy onto my PS2 HDD.

HDD was one of the very first solutions for backing up. I've put the HDD kit up on my site in the GT4 Rips topic. I'm sure that the Sonix solution would work just as well, but it needs someone to test it.

after the tool has finished extracting all the movies a message will appear asking you to delete some movie files actually it should be the extract button instead of the rip button but once i extract it dont say nothing about deleting movie files i am stuck here and need some major help what do i do next i have all the software downloaded

@realdeal, you have the newer version of sonix' tool and it has three buttons instead of just one as in the older versions. The "Extract" button is used to rip the movies, just as in the original. The "Rebuild" button is pressed after downsampling the movie files. finally when the GT4L1.VOL has been rebuilt, press the "Patch Files" button to remove the disk checks and so enable the game to boot. Then rebuild your ISO using CDVDGEN Etc Etc Etc.
There is also a tutorial kit, either on Sonix site or on mine, with everything you need (Except CDVDGEN).

Has anyone been getting an error whilst using the PSS downsampling Tool V1.00.. It states as follows.
"component 'ACTIVESKIN.OCX' or one of its descrepencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"
I have been trying this backup for a couple of days and have never been able to get past this point.. I was thinking of just deleting the movie files..
Anyone have an idea what this may be??

V1.01 comes with the missing OCX file. You have to put that into the windows\system32 folder. Once you've done that, you have to register it, which would be "regsvr32 ACTIVESKIN.OCX" typed at the start/run command.

I am always getting an error whenever I try to downsample. The error is "Component 'ACTIVESKIN.OCX' or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" I used the gt4 rip tutorial written by sonix with the Adobe format guide. This is getting quite frustrating...

I finished shrinking my GT4 it can only get to the copyright screen, then it's all black. Why does this happen? I can't play the real copy too.
