Well i just arrived in the Steamboat Willie world. Looks pretty authentic. Its a good game. Just a bit too easy tho. Only the bosses require abit of thinking. You can wquip enough abilities to thwart all the Heartless/Nobodies within seconds if u want. I'll do my usual levelling up thing towards the end of this game i think.

I was reading last night on the PS2hd forums that there isn't going to be a patch released, but hey they could be wrong. Yeah quite a few people from their forums weren't having any problems with Kingdom Hearts II for the HD. Maybe you should go post at their forums and find out how someone got it to play all the way through.

i just downloaded and burned Kingdom_Hearts_2_USA_PS2DVD-STRiKE on a Maxell dvd - at 2x to be safe ,using dvd decryptor.. im using swap magic swapdisk 3.6 plus + slidecard .. but i seem to be getting the same error ..."No valid ps2 disk" ...can anyone please help?

Largeprint its probably a case of bad media check my profile for a link to decent media (profile page aint much yet but too busy with other things). Id of thought that 2x would of been too slow a burn however it shouldn't have come up with the 'no disk error' the KH2 is the same one I downloaded and it works fine, also it plays fine on swap magic.
Have you backed up any other games onto these Maxwells as I am 95% sure it will be a media issue.
PS my vote goes for Taiyo Yuden for media.

wel .. i solved the problem , its got nothing to do with how you burn the disks .. you are all getting "not valid ps2 disk" because the slide trick is not done correct ... you have to slide the cd back to place in the corner ,before you press the x button ..

That's a common mistake. However crap media makes a huge difference as far as backups booting. There are plenty of people who don't use the slide card that get boot failures as a result of cheap media. It's always critical to use quality media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Because the slide card was the problem in your case, don't generalize it to everyone getting boot failures with the slide card for this or any other game.

Though ive heard the game wont be in Europe until October, its looking more likely that there'll be a May release. Not that i'll pick it up, those 50hz Square Enix games just dont cut it for me. Black borders, slowdown, squashy looking characters, and no real improvements to the game (except in the case of FFX PAL, which had Dark Aeons and Penance, but still had all of the above). Look at DQVIII. Its been out in the U.S. for 5 months, and now that they've finally released it in Europe, there havnt been any improvements at all. I don't understand why there arent 50/60 selectors on most games nowadays. Nearly everyone has a TV taht can support 60hz. Why dont they make PAL-60 the standard and publishers can choose whether or not to add 50hz in game.

You have to be a member to look at that forum. I know most of the new Capcom games have 50/60 selectors. None of the Square Enix games do. I was forced to play Final Fantasy X, X-2, Kingdom Hearts, all in Letterboxed, slow down mode. Not forgetting FF7, 8 and 9 too, as well as most of the other games ive played. Maybe its time to get a modchip and boycott Square Enix PAL games. I dont think i can hack Dirge Of Cerberus and Final Fantasy XII in crappy letterboxed 50hz. Not to mention Valkyrie Profile, which we might not get anyway.

Cant find any good modders in the UK though. Don't wanna use any of the local ones since I cant trust the chips they use. I want a high quality chip such as the Matrix Infinity, or DMS4PRO S.E.

But after you add the shipping costs, it comes out pretty expensive. Im trying to find a better offer, but no luck so far.
On a lighter, better for me note, im being upgraded to 8mb DSL broadband for free. :) Not that im going to be able to use that speed on torrents anyway, so its ALMOST worthless. Still, i feel powerful.
Oh and my NTSC games never slowed down, it was just the PAL ones felt a bit slower after playing the NTSC versions for so long. Take, Tekken 5 for example. PALs supposed to have better colour than NTSC too, though i didnt really notice that at anytime.
Shit, one more thing. I got owned by Sephiroth in like 10 seconds... Guess Lv.57 aint enough, better start training! Later.

Has anyone used the PS2RIP version of Kingdom Hearts 2? I unrar'd it down to an ISO...I've tried burning it at 8x ans 2x on one type of media...then I burned it at 8x on another type of media. Same problem with all three disks. Game boots...gets to the "new game/load game" screen (even plays the intro video)...but my controls don't work. I've tried both joystick ports and an original Sony controller and a Madcatz controller. The light lights on the controller when I hit the analog/digital button...and all other games work fine. I can't move up/down on this screen to select new/load game at all.
Yes...my media is cheap (no name brand and Memorex brand), but I have the same problems with all three discs...and HDAdvance copies the image fine to the hard drive. So, I don't really suspect bad burns because of all this.
No other games exhibit this behavior, and even the image when played from HD Advance does this.
FWIW, I used Nero v6 to burn the image.
