my ipod is frozen on ok to disconnect i have an 80gig classic how do i fix this?

Hold the menu and center button until it powers off. if it does the same thing, do the same hold the menu and center button only this time when it powers off, imediately release menu and hold the play and center button until a check mark appear on the ipod screen, then connected to itunes and run restore from itunes.
