Cucusoft DVD to ipod converter - dvd2x.exe error

Hello! We just purchased Cucusoft DVD to ipod converter and it works great on one PC but not the other. When I start the software and open the DVD, I get an error "Cucusoft DVD Software has encountered a problem and needs to close." Once I send the error report (or don't), it closes Cucusoft. Prior to sending the error, the movie on the DVD fastforwards past the menu and begins playing the video. The error in the application event log reads: the faulting module dvd2x.exe, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x00018b7d.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

Court,
First off, could you reuse serial/license key and install the application on multiple PCs? In addition, this application can supposedly handle copy-protected DVDs. However, I don't know if it'll decrypt the ones with stringent encryption. If all else, you can use DVDFab HD Decrypter to rip the movie first. Download it here. Afterwards, use Cucusoft DVD to Ipod Converter to transcode to MP4. Also, a great alternative freeware to use is Any Video Converter. I hope this helps...

Thanks for your response Pryme_H! I thought we bough a separate one for each PC, but I'll find out. I do know that I attempted the same DVD on both PCs to see if it was a copy-protected issue. One that worked in the first PC doesn't work on the second. I have since found in the cucu_video_log file:
55: 16:17:11 Warning: Get VMR Controler Failed!
56: 16:17:11 Warning: Get VMR Controler 9 Failed!
57: 16:17:12 Warning: Get VMR Windowless Controler Failed!
58: 16:17:12 Warning: Get VMR Windowless Controler 9 Failed!

Also I found InterActual Player, PowerDVD (by CyberLink), and Windows Media Player 11 on the PC. Only PowerDVD will actually play the DVD. The InterActual Player gives an error: "Error PL4007: InterActual Player is unable to initialize your DVD decoder for playback." Windows Media Player errors with "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card." which supports your copy protection theory. But PowerDVD by CyberLink plays it. It is choppy though.

Download K-Lite Codec Pack. This should fix the playback problem on your media players.
