Very true. The 226BW is a stunning monitor, but obviously a bit more expensive.

Pretty good value that...
Yeah but acer monitors are pretty dump. Most of them are, anyway. There's a reason why they're so cheap.

A fair bit, the image quality is noticeably superior. It's more the fact that the 226BW is just an all round excellent monitor though.

Lol. Assuming it's a standard def TV, you should be able to force 853x480 or 1024x576 resolution in the control panel of your graphics card. That's the res a widescreen TV should be using.
If it's an HDTV, I've no idea what's going on, 1024x768 should be easily legible.

In the UK, it'll be 50Hz. However it would only be 50Hz at 800x600 too. What cable are you using with it?

That's only dynamic contrast ratio. In reality the actual contrast is 1000:1. 800 to 1000 I can hardly notice. The contrast ratio of my 30" monitor is only 700:1 but has never proven a real problem for me. It could have darker blacks certainly, but so could any LCD monitor I've seen.
Mrcapdown: Perhaps try S-Video to SCART instead. You're welcome on the RAM front.

Not really, Hanns-G are a cheap make, their quality leaves a lot to be desired. Stick with proper companies like LG, Dell, Samsung and Viewsonic.
