Problem with my iPod Video Please Help!!!!

my ipod just recently stopped working. when i plug it into my computer it makes the noise that says its connected and it shows the do not disconnect screen. after that it shows up in my itunes and in my computer. i have a bunch of movies on my ipod, but i dont watch them through my ipod. i am merely using my ipod as an external harddrive. for some reason now whenever i try to play one of those movies or even just open a paper for school it will work for about 1 minute and then it will just stop and say "cannot open file... make sure a disc is in the drive specified." after that if i try to click on a folder from my ipod it will say "f:/release is not accesible. parameter is incorrect". i can also play songs through itunes for maybe 2 minutes and then eventually an exclamation mark appears next to every single song on my ipod and i cant play them. can someone please help?
