Alcohol Image file Problem

A friend of mine made a DVD image file on computer which has a FAT32 file system, and so the maximum file size was 2GB- so somehow he got Alcohol to split the file up. I've transferred the files over to my PC (as I have a DVD burner) and I now have an MDF file (1.99GB big), an MD0 file (around 500Mb big) and an MDS file (a few KB- obviously the "cue" file). However, whenever I load the MDS file in Alcohol, it says that it doesn't understand it or it can't write it, which puzzles me.

I can manually select to write the MDF file, but would I be right in saying that if I did this, Alcohol would ignore the MD0 file and as such the whole of the image wouldn't write to the disc? Is this because the MDS files is corrupt possibly? What do you suggest I do about this, and what would work?

I have exactly the same problem with my mds mdf md0 files - does anyone have an answer? Maybe some other burning software?
