This guide is to better the quality of mpeg 4 videos for ipod making them clearer and more defined using handbrake and the xbox 360 hd-dvd drive which can now be found on ebay for hardly anything.

Here is what you need:

1. Xbox 360 Hd-DvD player

2. HandBrake Leopard edition only

3. and a hole lot of Hard Drive space (recommend a external hard drive for this)

Step one:

Purchase a Xbox 360 Hd-DvD drive from Ebay.

Once it Arrives connect it to your macintosh.

Then insert dvd video and do not start with dvd player just close dvd player.

How this works:

Ok the hd-dvd drive for the xbox 360 up converts all dvd's into 1080i this is a great thing because with handbrake and the use of this drive you can upconvert your video to a higher quality for your ipod or even your apple tv.

The downside hard drive space to get the best quality mpeg 4 for the apple tv and ipod you need hard drive space and a lot of it if you max the settings on handbrake and then convert the dvd to mpeg 4 you will get amazing quality but most of these files will be in 2 -4 gig sizes so be farwarned also make sure your macintosh can handle the resolution.

And that is it i tried this out thinking this was bull untill i tried it with my dvd copy of 300 and man it looks so much nicer then a regular dvd convert to mpeg 4 man i got to find harry potter and try it out with it next
