Hello,
First post here and I have a few questions regarding editing avchd material. I have a sony tg1 and edit on a imac 2.8 intel core 2 duo 4gb ram. I edit the footage in final cut express 4 and then export the full movie to a .mov file. I then use REVOLVERHD to convert the file back to .m2ts and burn on to dvd. Here is where I have a few hiccups. First, the dvd starts to play fine on the ps3 but then encounters sync issues and eventually freezes. I have to copy the file off the dvd on to the ps3 hard drive and then the movie plays perfectly. Why does the ps3 have a hard time reading off the disk and how can I fix this? The other issue I have is that when I play a raw file from my sony on the tv off the camera the image fills up my entire widescreen. Somewhere during the editing process this changes because the final edited footage has black bars on top and bottom. It's still widescreen but a different aspect ratio it seems. I know this is a little nit picky because at the end of the day I am still able to edit the avchd footage EASILY and play an hd edited movie back on my tv but I am picky and want all the bells and whistles to work!
