I used to use Nero Recode3 to back up my DVDs (non-copy protected) so that I could view them on my PS3. I use WMP as the Media Server on my main PC for video files. The following formats work fine without any transcoding: (avi, divx, mpg, and most MP4s).

Side Note:
I have tried other Media Servers like Nero and TVersity which also do transcoding, but Nero doesn't have a sorting mechanism by Folder so I dumped it. TVersity works ok, and I have it running on another PC primarily to play AppleTV encoded MP4s (PS3 doesn't like these files at all). I prefer not to have to Transcode anything so I use WMP11.

Problem:
Nero Recode 3 with the PS3 AVC setting used to work just fine, but about a month ago new recoded files show up as corrupted even though they play fine on my PC. Now I have to Recode the DVD to an MP4 with Recode, then use DrDIVX to re-encode to a DIVX file. All DIVX files play flawlessly. You do have to change the file extension from ".divx" to ".avi" after DRDIVX is done with it. I would prefer not to have to perform this last step. If anyone has suggestions on a fix for the Recode file, I would really appreciate it.
