I just got an iPod touch along with my new Macbook.
I use a Linksys WAG200G router and have set up WPA2 - Personal security. I have set a mixed network mode allowing both B and G. Also I am using channel 11 - 2.462Ghz.
Now I had not one single issue connecting any other device to the network before. My Windows laptop connected straight away after tapping in the WPA2 key, the PS3, straight on with the passcode and also my MacBook - I have disabled MAC address filtering.
Now when I tried connecting my iPod Touch, it sees my network but after tapping in my passcode it says 'cannot connect'. I am 100% typing it in correctly. I even changed my key to something so simple that even if I was being really stupid it would have been impossible to type it in incorrectly. However it still would not connect. I also tried manually entering the IP details and setting a static IP address in the range, but still no avail.
Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have even tried using WEP and still no avail. I have also tried restoring the iPod completely from iTunes, downloading and reinstalling the software and firmware, tried restoring from the iPod itself (reset network settings). I have tried an OpenDNS. Nothing works. The wireless on the iPod must be working since it finds my home network and also another (probably one of the neighbours), but cannot for the life of me work out why it will not join the network. Please can someone offer some help. Thanks
Try turning wpa off and try connecting, if it does i will have to say the touch don't work well with protected wi-fi, i dont have a touch so i can for sure say thats the case, but like i say turn off the protection on the router and try to connect that way. Good Luck
