I have just found out to my displeasure that the ipod touch 2g can not be jailbroken, and will most likely not be hacked any time soon due to some security fixes by apple and something about coding the firmware to a chip inside it...Fortunately I could probably still bring it back and get a 1g ipod touch, but I was just curious, what would you guys do in my position? I want third party apps and I don't want to pay for overpriced things in the app store, so should i exchange it, or are the benefits of 2g greater than 1g?

I'd return it and try to buy the 1st gen one. For me, I actually have faith in the 2g and am actually looking to buy one right now for Christmas, but the price is too darn high as everyone wants one for Christmas.

Do you find the Apple store(online) or the apple store (physical) is better to buy from?

well ive never bought anything off the online store but that is because i prefer buying it in person just so you can see it hands on before you buy.

Alright, Thanks for the advice. The only reason i would buy stuff online is better prices (as long as the seller is good)
